Raiders is clearly the best Indy film but they're all win as far as i'm concerned and people that don't like them must have something wrong with the fun-sensor in their brain.

Indeed. But you put up with it, because it's Indy. I even liked the young indy series. :-|

I watched Temple of Doom on Sunday night for the 1st time in 20 years, was it always such cheesy, badly acted crap?

Temple of Doom is ridiculously cheesy, even by 80s standards. Don't know why they thought it would make for a good sequel to Raiders. Still love the film, but it is very silly.

Watch The Last Crusade, which is on at the same time this Sunday. It's much better, probably my favourite of the three. Particularly for the final sequence.

Temple of Doom is actually my favourite.

I know the traditional theory is 1>3>2, but I really enjoy ToD.

It is, however, like choosing your favourite gold bar, so its not really a big deal.

Ah, I didn't realise it was accepted that no.2 was gash.
    SO weall agree then..

I never saw the 3rd one tbh...

When you see the other two you'll realise what its all about. If you don't, well there's just no saving you. ;)

Has probably been mentioned in this thread, but the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark where the sword guy turns up, swings his sword around and Indy just shoots him was all improvised. There was supposed to be a big sword fight but Harrison wasn't feeling very well so he just acted out shooting the guy.

Close, but not quite, I think. The way I understand it, there was going to be a big swordfight, but because Ford was unwell he suggested 'Can't I just shoot the guy?' and they all decided that was a better idea. I found it amusing when I heard that because I remember studying the film for a Media Studies GCSE and the teacher talking about that scene and all its underlying messages about 'Western Superiority' - when in fact it was just to cut Harrison Ford some slack :)

Yeah, whatever. I meant as the follow-up film.

I did already know that, by the way. :)

The blonde in ToD was terrible, really bad..

I agree - she must have been sleeping with the director or something.

I like Temple of Doom, but I have to admit that Kate Capshaw is bloody annoying. Would, though ...

Well, she is supposed to be shreiky and annoying, its the 'fish out of water' thing, whereas Marion was pretty tough.

And you still remember her. Not like Elsa from Last Crusade....

Short Round is a great sidekick, though.

As a kid, ToD was definitely my favourite, and it definitely has its moments. I love the opening, and of course the rope bridge and mine cart chase is all classic stuff. As a growny-uppy type, I'd have to go with Last Crusade. It may come off a little bit preachy in places, but Ford and Connery were great together - every moment of them tied up together on those chairs is joyful to watch.

If you listen closely to this exchange:
    'Dad?'
    'What?'
    'Dad??'
    'What?!'
    'DAD!'
    'WHAT???'
    'Head towards the fireplace!'

you can hear Ford -almost- cracking up at the end.

It's disgraceful, you're old enough to be her... her grandfather.
