You get a couple of sparks from him an episode, where he feeds off other panel members or the audience. Can't see it working remotely.

Yes I watched an episode the other week to see how it would work, really quite poor TV I thought.

It works as well as it can, I suppose. The mrs is an editor and feels deep sympathy with the person who has to stich a zoom conference together and keep any semblance of comic timing.

Better they try this than just show another Mrs Brown's Boys repeat IMO.

Who actually watches it? I've never met someone that has watched it before.

    My Dad loves it.

    He's a moron though.

I cannot disagree with this. I often wonder who this appeals to. My Mam likes it, but she has always had questionable taste in comedy, IMHO. But I don’t know a single person that watches it other than her.

So all 12-year-olds love Logan Paul/Ricegum and all 65+-year-olds love Mrs Brown Boys Da Movie Feck Ya Cunt.

Videodrome signal somewhere in these transmissions is definitely required.

Mum has a visceral hatred for it though, so it balances out.

I'll actually go to her funeral.

I probably shouldn’t criticise other people’s taste in comedy. Since I have been furloughed I have just left E4 on an afternoon and sat through several episodes of Melissa and Joey, and Mike and Molly. Sometimes I remember to switch over to BBC News or something else. But day time TV is usually bollocks. At least these aren’t presenting themselves as acceptable, prime time TV.

Mapping person: just tell me how you want the maps to look, and I'll make them to your specifications.

Us: we want x, y and z things with this and this etc. Here's a spreadsheet.

Mapping person: are you sure you wouldn't rather this?

Us: no, we have specific instructions on what's wanted.

Mapping person: but generally we would do this instead.

Us: yes, but we have very specific instructions on what to make.

Mapping person: really it should be like this.

Us: please can you just do the maps how we want.

Mapping person: here's something that I think looks better. You'll notice the text is all wrong because I've completely ignored the spreadsheet you sent to me.

Us: no, that's not it. Can you just do what we asked for please.

Mapping person: this is what you want. Also have a spreadsheet that seems to bear no resemblance to the one you sent to me.

Us: no, we know very fucking well what we've been asked to make and we don't have much leeway to indulge your rigidly orthodox GIS philosophy. These maps are for a very specific and unusual purpose, just do them please.

Mapping person: are you sure that they don't want this? What they've asked for doesn't make sense to me, so they'll accept what I give them. They don't understand maps like me so I'll do the thinking for them.

Bloody hell, I'm fucking sunburned to a crisp. Shaving my head then going out for a total of 1hr walk and 0.5run (with glistering sweat nicely enhancing the sun ray effect) during a clear, sunny day without any protection was not my brightest idea.

Thank goodness I have excellent after sun lying around.

I've just bought the shittest 4k TV going. I keep meaning to post about it in the HD TV thread.

Anyway, mapping person is annoyingly difficult to work with.

@Nexus_6 we're mapping a stretch of coastline. We need to produce a whole series of maps incorporating various historic and contemporary data relating to different types of ownership and use of the area.

It's quite complex, and it's the first time it's been done for our particular purpose, but we have very clear instructions from on high of exactly what to map.

These instructions are laid out very clearly in a spreadsheet. A spreadsheet that Mapping Person doesn't seem to refer to. He said today that he doesn't really do e-mails either...

He doesn't do spreadsheets or emails in 2020.

    How old is this person?
