Mr Boulter, who estimated he lost about 300 in the incident, eventually caught the squirrel in a waste paper bin and released it out of the window.

@X201 i agree with the sentiment but there is no reason for any squirrel to meet its end at the hands of a human :(

Red ones are loads better than grey ones. Death to greys I say.

I agree. But sometimes life doesn't give you win-win choices. Do nothing and the red squirrels become extinct.

could we not just shoo the grays to places like Sheffield

Squirrel babies starving to death is pretty much why I decided against killing the ones eating everything at my allotment. Problem is, even nets wont stop them any more, they just eat through them to get at the tasty goodness on the other side.

Bring back the Pine Martens I say - they're good at getting rid of the greys and letting the reds thrive.

Fuck em back off to north America.

At least you guys don't have black squirrels. I'm not racist, some of my best friends are black squirrels but back home they really are a menace

We do. Not as widespread as the greys, but we've got them.

    Probably not the best pet.

It'll probably kill your cat - they're not fans of vermin.

They shit and piss all over my garden, as well as trying to kill all my garden birds. Oh, and they can also spread toxoplasmosis in their shit. That makes them vermin in my eyes ;)
  • Deleted user 26 October 2015 14:27:41
just googled toxoplasmosis, apparently you only need to worry about it if you eat cat shit...

I turned a corner on a quiet forest road near Aviemore, and found 2 of them shagging in the middle of the road. I had to stop and toot to get them to move off.
