Registered 17 years agoOk so I have resurrected a very old thread, better than to start a new one (Maybe?)
Anyway Bladder quotes:
the fact I'm not a millionaire aristocrat with the sexual capacity of a rutting rhino is a constant niggle.
Has to be one of the best. I try to use it daily.
P.S. If you have Paramount TV watch Not The Nine O'clock News, it is as funny, in fact more so than I remember back in the day.
OH YEAH -

I may have the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a concrete elephant. -

Registered 15 years agoDid anyone see that Blackadder documentary on UK Gold last night? Really interesting. -
It was quite good but it went on for far too long. Felt like it was about three hours. -

Yeah, but there's only so much you can take of the actors basically gushing over each other. -

Maybe, but the documentary was still too long (although still a better "MAKING OF" than the usual guff, so yes). It was just far too much "CHARACTER A PLAYED BY PERSON B" "Oh, yes, Person B played it brilliantly, no-one else could have done it." "Person B? Brilliant, absolutely brilliant." "Person B brought in aspects of themselves into Character A".
Repeat for everyone ever in the show.
The stuff about how they wrote the show and the clips of rehearsals were great, though. -
Any chance of this turning up anywhere for those people without access to UK Gold to view? -
GOLD were pretty smug about having it exclusively, so I think that might be that. -

Registered 16 years agoTo be fair I haven't seen any episodes of Blackadder.. just the documentaries. Annoying actually.
Although, Fawlty Towers, now.. thats a different story. -

Registered 15 years agoA friend tipped me off to it a while ago. The interesting thing is that Blackadder is the sarcastic one from series 2 onwards, not the weasel from series 1. They should have kept him like that. Series 1 is the weakest. I wonder why they decided to change him? -

Yeah, this box set has that on it. It also has the Christmas Carol and Back and Forth too.
I had the first box set (which I'm sure looked slightly different with a full face shot of each Blackadder in the four pictures, not the collage mugshot on that) which contained series 1-4 only and decided to lend it to someone. Who then 'lost it.' He reimbursed me. Bought it again. Lended it to another mate. Who 'lost it.' Luckily I borrowed a box set of his but not in the same calibre as Blackadder.
I saw that box set I linked to in Woolworths soon after for £29.99. They'd printed the wrong price tag out for it on the shelf as it scaned through as £39.99. Brand new for £10 less than it should have been. Get in. -
