Anybody got a Sony M600i?

Ok this is driving me mad.

I have a SE M600i and despite it's faults I am overall pretty happy with it. My main issues is I am unable to alter or change the shortcuts.

In all the reviews I have seen the M600i seems to have 2 functions that as of yet remain undiscovered on my phone these are:

- DESKTOP SHORTCUTS viewable at the buttom of the home screen.

- The ability to customise the hardware button on the side (currently accesses the web on mine)

I have gone through the settings over and over to no avail is this functionality not included on UK phones? I would really like to either have a shortcut or hardware button that takes me straight to messaging.

Is it branded to orange/vodaphone or something like this?

I had a similar issue with my K810i, I unbranded it to make it a generic 810 and that solved my issue.

Yes it is orange branded. How easy is it to unbrand a phone? and does it make setting up MMS and SMS tricky?
