I think 'Baton of the Wind' would have been the best English title, or at least something that stays with the Zelda semi-consistent naming convention (which has been highly inconsistent in the West, and not 100% consistent in Japan, I'll admit).
Well, they couldn't exactly use a straight translation, or people woudl be wondering if it was a game about a particularly polite wind. But I don't like it either and as long as I could I called Kaze no Takuto. But people since a lot of people don't always know I'm a native, they thought I was just being pretentious.
My favorite title (which I'm not even going to bother finding for copy and paste purposes) is the driving test one that lists all the different vehicle classes after it. Madness. -

Official Capcom Guy, please make them ship some extra copies for the Euro launch, ok? -

Isn't it a budget release anyways? That coupled with the cheap dollar should make this kind to the wallet. -

That's it I think. Fuck European Nintendo consoles.
Didn't OCG say here that the game was on track to meet the PAL release date of Dec 7th?

He did and it was no comfort. On track != will.
Jumps off cliff -
Worrying thing about that is that the amazon.de entry is new, as they didn't have it listed at all till a couple of days ago. -
Didn't I read somewhere recently that Nintendo had been actively trying to stall the release of Zack and Wiki because they didn't want it coming out so close to SMG? Crap... where the hell did I read that? It was yesterday. I seem to remember something about them complaining that a "cloud looked like Pikachu" or something.
Edit: Nope, scrub that. It wasn't Zack and Wiki, it was Rayman Raving Rabbids 2. You all know about the cult phenomenon that is Surfer Girl, right? -

Now it will clash WithWii FIt and NMH -

I actually hope this is true - with Mario Galaxy on the horizon, Zack & Wiki is simply not going to sell, so a 2008 release might give it a proper chance to be successful. Plus, I certainly won't have time to play it because I'll be too busy with MG. -

Registered 20 years agoI can certainly see the logic in holding it back until after Christmas - it's a prime candidate to get buried in the usual Xmas rush, yet it clearly deserves much, much more exposure.
Launching it in the otherwise quiet period at the end of January / beginning of February will almost certainly give Nintendo more of an opportunity to create some awareness of the title and, crucially, sell more copies. -

Registered 15 years agoCapcom still have it as 7th Dec on their website. That Gaf rumour has probably just come from the date listed on amazon.de website, but they are the only people having it listed for January. I hope they are wrong, was looking forward to getting this at Christmas time. -

Registered 15 years agoWell, I think that it's a good move - Mario Galaxy is going to be the main focus for Nintendo this Christmas and as it's been said, Zack and Wiki would have just been overlooked if it was released in December.
Hopefully, people with Christmas money/vouchers will give Zack and Wiki a go in January. -

Registered 17 years agoYou can't really spin this delay into positive news. The argument of "you only need Galaxy this winter" puts us right back into classic N64 era Nintendo where it was enough to rely on the 4 or so big nintendo releases every year. What if I'm not into platforming games for example and have already finished Metroid? I'm looking forward to Eurogamers 12 Wii games for Christmas article.
Third party wise, there is nothing i want this Christmas on the Wii other than maybe Forever Blue but I'm still not convinced this hasn't been delayed too. Was thinking about RE:UC but it's been getting awful reports. What else is there left that doesn't fall into the party game bracket? -

Yeah, sorry about not being able to tell you, but it's Nintendo's game to distribute so I wasn't going to mention the possible change before the decision was finalised and they'd announced it
It was on target for the December release when I posted that, it was only a few days after that we realised it might get moved. Seems like a reasonable idea to move it - it looks like it will have a better chance of not getting missed as a Jan release.
I notice the Nintendo site doesn't have the age rating - it'll be PEGI 7+ (with the violence and fear modifiers) -
Well, that's put me off getting a Wii until the New Year then.
oh well, more cash for chrimbo booze! \0/
