    "I want the smack"

    "Then give me the guns!"

    "No!"

    "Yes!"

    "No!"

"I won't give you any smack if you won't give me any guns."

    "No!"

lots of circumstantial evidence (pictures with demons between womens heads, the proverb in the bible matching the release date) point to something Satanic

I hope it's Cthulu myself, the handheld cam allowing you to never really "show" it, therefore keeping it scary, what you don't see and all that

It's called Monstrous, apparently, and there's a poster at aintitcoolnews:

Just to make something clear: Abrams is producing this, not writing or directing.

There's some OC-type shit on TV he's produced. So crap I don't even remember the name.

    /imdb

Oh yeah.. 'What about Brian'. It makes Sunset Beach look good.

If it really IS Satan, he HAS to get nuked. A film featuring Satan getting nuked (preferably by Bill Pullman in a biplane) would be the greatest thing in the history of great things.

    Not called Monstrous. :)

Despite Lost disappointing the longer it went on, this is one of my most anticipated films. Think it looks awesome.

I saw that report from Comic Con. So apparently Monstrous was the tagline (since removed) from one of three posters: a poster with a beheaded Statue of Liberty.

I was more of the opinion it was just Photochopped in rather than being legit and then removed.

Hmmm, ok, well my understanding was that the original marketing was going to have three taglines on three different posters: "Monstrous", "Barbarous", and "Ferocious", although I'm not strongly inclined to believe that.

I read that too, but doubted it. Sounds a bit cheesy. :)

Saw the trailer for this in the cinema today before Transformers which has reignited my interest. Best part of the day that was, let me tell you...

Hehe! I really didn't enjoy it, but I seem to be in a minority. If you can cope with loads of cliches, cheese and fast-cutting action, you'll like it. Otherwise, bring a sick bag.

    Z1?

I like the look of this. I expect it will actually be a monumentally popcorn-tastic let-down on a par with the Abrahms-of-their-time duo responsible for Independance Day and Godzilla, but in the meantime the trailer is very promising. I can't work out how they'd manage to keep the handycam style going all the way through though. Who keeps a handycam filming all the way through a city-wide disaster on that kind of scale? At least there was a specific reason for the filming in Blair Witch...

Still, awesome trailer. Shivers down my spine...

So now the suggestion is that the name is Overnight:

Saw the teaser when I went to see Transformers. I was loving the reactions it was getting from all the loud mouthed twats in the cinema.

    "Has Transformers started already?"
    "No it's Godzilla innit."
    "What is this?"
    "It's Godzilla."
    "How do you know?"
    "Look, it'll show it."
    "This looks shit."
"Oh what, it doesn't even say what it is?"

I don't think the handycam really translated to the big screen, though. So I don't think I'll bother watching it in the cinema.

Is he not just producing Star Trek? Could be wrong - I seem to remember that someone fairly new to the scene had been roped in quite unexpectedly as either director or writer.
  • Deleted user 8 October 2007 20:33:16
Any idea whatsoever yet if the film will be following the handycam style?

Seems to me pretty unlikely they will - probably just be another blockbuster effects-heavy regular movie and very doubtful to be anything as dramatic or satisfying as the trailer. Definitely interested though.

Nah he's been confirmed as director now, his wife told him to do it after she read the script apparantly :)

It's been written by the guys who wrote M:I-3 and Transformers.

Probably Kirk doing backflips out of the way of phaser fire whilst Spock smashes through a window and karate chops the baddies.

    Should be ace! :D

Im assuming thats Stephen Kings Dark Tower series. Am i right? If so, i dont know what to make of that news. Since the Dark Tower is not suitable for a book to film transfer imo.
