[UPDATE 1] A Kansas Target has the 60GB PS3 in its computer at $599

[UPDATE 2] Another tipster has told us that today they sold two at Circuit City at $499. Confused, the manager called it in and got a confirmation that it was correct. We are in the process of verifying this.

[UPDATE 3] A Target store in Rancho Cucamonga in California has confirmed that the 60GB PS3 is in their system for $499. It looks like there's no pattern to which stores are and aren't offering the price cut.

    There's actually a site called ps3fanboy?

Should I refer to it for independent balanced opinion?

    ;)

They're all part of a parent company which do "fanboy" websites for many systems, the name isn't really relevant.

do you really think that a fanboy would fake a pricecut?

that would be pretty weird, i don't really see what it would achieve.

also, reporting on a rumored price cut has nothing to do with an "opinion", it's just something that either does or doesn't happen.

Whilst the names grate, the various fanboy sites (there's one for every platform) are well balanced and don't lick the corporate balls. Frankly, it's a breath of fresh air to find sites that aren't editorialised to hell or trolled to buggery by infantile shitwits. Any bias they have is totally transparent, which is a lot more than you can say for most sites.
