Sorry to see you're gone Lou, but you can of course always come back![]() The Shiva expansion will be released later this year, and it will (finally!) include the player owned stations we've been promised for about a year (we already have ones you can take over, but they have no defenses or anything so it's a bit pointless). Also two new races (asian origin), more new ships etc. Furthermore, when you left in December, more or less everyone was getting into Battleships, but now many people fight with frigates and cruisers (this is mainly because the MWD changes allowed frigates and even cruisers to outrun cruise missiles), so I'd say the game is now more accessible since you don't need as much skill points or expensive ships to take part in battles and have fun (and even take out battleships with good teamwork!). I turncoated (is that a verb?) and left M.corp and the Curse Alliance and joined the pirate hunter/PvP corp Celestial Apocalypse recently, and started fighting my old team. Naughty naughty... But who cares, I'm having more fun now than I ever did! PS. I'd like apologise one more time to my friends in M.corp. It's nothing personal, it's just something I wanted to do. I'm having fun, you're having fun, and that's all that matters. I hope there are no hard feelings. PPS. I haven't seen Nicholas log on in many weeks. He may have quit. Not that I really care, but since I have him in my "buddies" folder I've always seen when he logs on or off. |

Registered 18 years agoNo apologies needed Jazz, I must admit to being shocked at your departure to Celestial, Only in the last few weeks since we have buils BS for all the guys are we starting to really come together as a group, and it will be fun meeting you on the battlefield.
Makes it more exciting to think that we will meet in a combat situation soon and there will be a more personal element to it
best of luck.
I heard that Obi already came accross you by chance at an old M.Corp safespot and that there was a brief moment of intensity between you.
M.Corp have recently been defending our station against the Xanadu corp. They are a large corp but in one particular skirmish (3 on 3 battleships) that I was involved in we ganked the hell out of them - I was pleased with our group performance.gif)
BP sales are also funding the corp insurance ladder - once you are insured and in the ship theres no risk anymore and we can enjoy combat safe in the knowledge that there will be no long faces if it all goes tits up.
Big, regarding whos winning - it seems CA are consolidating thir position in the curse heartlands and allowing celest and their associated corps to wander up the corridor as far as E02. This does cause a few problems to those that would like safe passage to empire but with the right info and instajumps it is perfectly possible.
If propeganda from within CA is to believed then Celestial Apocalypse will soon want reconsider their invasion of CA space as their losses mount up. Having said that they are making a very impressive stand for a lone corp though they do appear to have 2-3 principal allies hanging onto their coat tails.
Its all good

Agreed, all good.
Our Kill-to-Death ratio is quite good, but then again every loss hurts more since most of us don't have any regular sources of income.
In fact, if you type "mining" on the corp forums, it's turned into "the vile 'm' word" :-D
Quite frankly I haven't seen any of our allies in GW since last week end. Reikoku seem to have pulled back to fight a war in Venal.
Nice to hear you're doing well, on the battle field as well. Xanadu are fighting a long way from home, they'll probably retreat fairly soon.
I did run into old Obi at a safe spot, I'd totally forgotten he'd given me that. I only had a few safe spots to begin with, and the one in B-vip I'd remade just to be sure. I'm just glad I wasn't afk when he showed up. I don't think I shot at him though.
I met him again today just before downtime in fact. I was looking for a fight in B-vip, chasing Mok'tel in his Scorpion, when Obi showed up. Mok target jammed me and they both started lobbing missiles at me, and I had to sit there and take it... because my back-up was on the other side of the gate. Long story short, Obi had to watch as me and Shadowthrone ripped Mok's Scorp apart (for some reason he stopped target jamming me, may have run out of cap or something). Once again, I didn't shoot at Obi this time either... because I had a short range set-up:-D
Who knows, we may see each other in battle some day soon. I sure hoped I'm tanked that day 'cos I have a feeling I'll be targetted first:-D (actually, "we" fought "you" today already. Poor Jai lost his Apoc to Jet's Typhoon and supporting Interceptors in Sl-y... but then again he had three Bships so he should be fine, right?) -

Registered 18 years agoYeah I spoke Joi Jai from work on MSN - he said he was podding it back to Unertek for some reason.
He is just back from E3 and obviously was a little rusty
either that or his instas were not correctly calibrated...? Low and behold when I get home he has graced Jet with a cheap Apoc kill... damnit!
He was insured though,, and a replacement ship has already been built thank god. There will be no more slip-ups like this though and soon your time will come! *shakes fist*
I had a good time dueling with the celest last night in E02, they had a blockade at the MM gate in E02 and some were also camping the station. I think the tempest at the gate had more or less instalock and gave my rupture a good old pummeling before i was away at my gate gankspot. I was doubly glad to get away as my cargo contained some new top secret technology that was bound for 1V- and its loss would have been a bitter one. -

Registered 19 years agoNooooo... top secret technology and we didn't get it?
Seems like M.corp is getting back into fighting for the Great Wildlands, or e02 at least.
This morning you lost three Cruisers and someone from Shinra lost an Apoc.
Just now we lost a Megathron in a fight which involved Moe and Busra, some other frigs and Cruisers and three CA battleships. We had two BS and a cruiser. I got away with a guilty conscience:-/
Although it seems that some (I don't mean you) CA members (and some Zombie too) have started using a "log on at the other side of the gate and jump in" -tactic, which while not being an exploit (yet), isn't exactly in the spirit of fair play either since it makes it impossible to use the map to assess the situation beforehand... (and we're not just imagining it, since you can see people log on if you have them in your address book) -

Registered 19 years agoThere is a nasty rumour circulating that Jai complained: "I was coming back from a mining op" or something to that effect, while in fact being armor tanked, and fitted with lasers (not the mining kind) and drones (not the mining kind either)...
It's just not safe to travel alone there in a slow BS, you can always get caught on the other side of the gate

Registered 18 years agoI can neither confirm or deny what Jai may have said as he was being ripped to shreds, what is certain is that there is intelligence flowing right from within CA to our opponents ears - just the merest mention of a large CA push towards E02 is resulting in mass log offs from our waiting enemies - security of ops is being tightened.
You are right about the safety issue in a BS though Jazz, you only go thtough E02 if you are going to fight or you have good intel the system is not camped.
Yes - we are taking a few cruiser losses, but I must say that for every rupture we loose we have taken down a number of the so called "elite" frigates. Lets just say that the factories in Unertek are very busy and I have enlisted two corporations to mine for us in empire space.
The secret technology had to be abandoned in E02 for fear of it being scattered on the way through to 1V- so if you see me in E02 tonight just wonder at what my cargo bay may contain as I head to the safety of Tabithas Topless Table Dancing station... Motions are afoot to open a permanent corp office facility in E02 and this will help our effort in that area.

Yeah, I'm sure you don't actually lose a penny when you lose a Cruiser, since you can make them very cheap yourselves. So you can get very cost-effective kills with them.
Well, others may have inside intel from the CA, but to be honest if we do, I get it second hand. We mostly just use the map, which unfortunately doesn't work that well these days. And I've never been in e02 in a situation when we've logged off because of an incoming force, no matter what the CA Forum Warriors say. Better to see who/what it is before deciding whether to fight or not.
It seems Zombie got bored of fighting EV and have returned to Egbinger and B-vip, and you have to be very careful with them because of their nasty log-on trap tactics
I remember you bidding for an office in e02. Have you managed to buy one? I just happen to have lab slot there, how much would you pay for it?

I'm quite happy at the moment mining and getting into haulage. I'm still pretty new with it, to be honest.
Just been upping my skills on basic stuff such as attributes and kitting out the Imicus with the microdrive/mining II lasers and, er, that's pretty much it.

See the gap between these two brackets?
That's how close I am to renewing my account.
I take it the 6 months rule is still valid, so my character would be alive and well?
I'd need a job then too, though.
/glances at Velios
Minmatar, bald but good-looking, 32, single, capable of flying a battleship, experienced with cruisers, a few million skillpoints, more or less all combat-related. Does that sound good?
Not sure yet though, I just don't have the tiiiiiime anymore. -

Of course we'll attack them! I'll log on right now and go for them! Chaaaaaaaarge!
Come on Lou, you know you want to... (Zond3's still in M.corp, even if he doesn't log on that often these days). And yea, the 6 month rule should still apply. Pay for a month, being in M.corp and the Curse Alliance is more exciting (and deadly) than Incom was (not that Incom wasn't great of course!).
EDIT: Ship insurance is now 12 (twelve) weeks, so you don't have to play as actively anymore to keep your finances in balance.

What was your ingame name?
If you need equipment or isk for a new frigate don't hesitate to ask.
Also, if you have trouble finding a nice corp, have a look in the "Corporations and Factions" folder, there are usually some large corps hiring. Larger might equal better, since they're more likely to have players that are at your level ingame and that you can relate to out-of-game as well.
M.corp's always a good choice though. -

Nemesis! looking for a Job? we have 4-5 Caldari in M.Corp - they are fearsome warriors (especially the one from Salford) and my comments above about Caldari were a mere reflection of the deep emotional scar that I bear in relation to a recent betrayal :S This will soon be patched up though - our targets are firmly set.
