I too thought plot wise MD was superior to LH and one of Lynch's best outputs. People are harsh on it when they hear it was intended to be a series originally.

The story is still there, doesn't matter if they tell it during a whole season or a 2.5h film. There are a few sub plots that could be gone into more (the clumsy hitman story for example) but it's more or less normal for a Lynch movie.

Lynchnet is reporting that Paramount is to release season 2 in November. Seems that it has been a "go" for a while now but Lynch has been holding back for the negs to be cleaned for a pristine look....apparently.
