Registered 16 years agoI'm not too concerned about my inaccurate weight readings tbh, since the balance board on average knocks about half a stone off the reading I get on my 'proper' scales on a wooden floor upstairs!
So long as the exercises seem to be working properly (which they do) I'm not that fussed. -

Registered 16 years agoThe reason I ask is that I think I've found a flaw (and a not very desirable one) in our bathroom scales.
They're digital. You tap them to make them switch on wait for the display to hit zero and them step on them and they give you your weight. The problem I found purely by chance was that if you weigh yourself once but then weigh yourself again straight away you get a weight that is vastly heavier (12 - 14 pounds)
after discovering this the Wii:Fit arrived and started giving weight readings that match the newly found second weight. Meaning that I might be even lardier than I thought I was
((((
Hence my wondering about comparisons. -

Absolutely! I pre-ordered it last week, £18 inc PP from VG+. 13th May!
Ahhh I'm not a freeloader user so I guess I'll have to wait for the PAL versh. But that's bloody excellent news. -

Looks cracking, pity it doesn't support multiple balance boards.
Bloody hell ecosse, just how big is your living room?

Yup that is a bit of a shame, and I'd guessed as much - with the fit board nicking the slot 4 wiimote slot only...
Only thing I'm potentially worried about is buggering the Wii Fit board up by trying to jump etc. We've already had an incident at Maybe Towers that nearly ended up with the fit board being busted by an overenthusiastic niece getting a bit carried away with the ski jump section on Wii Fit. -

He does indeed, and if my memory serves me correct, he speaks very highly of it. -

I hear ya. My nerves were shot to pieces when my Father in law was ski jumping... -

Mine were too when my 20 stone father-in-law stepped up for the ski-jump. But he was brilliant at it. 154m, incredible. -

Registered 15 years agoA personal trainer is probably just what some people are expecting with this title Daisy and, rather than Mr Motivator, they're getting Jade Goody in a leotard ducking out of step class for the occasional Rothmans.
I'm completely with whoever said that that level of involvement may be off putting for the casual market, it just may have been an idea to also include something more involved plan-wise for those that wish it. When the thing starts making comments about imbalances in your stance or supposed lack of flexibility or strength, the next logical step is to work out a plan to help.
From the sounds of it ninty are already on the case for Wii Fit 2.
Either way, I can quite happily appreciate what I've got for now. The comedy value of hula hooping alone is nearly worth the price of admission and the skiing games show skip loads of promise for me. -

I can see mine getting grubby and a cover might be useful. The Game one looks a horrid blue, whereas teh MadCatz one is colourless. -

Yup, have just played that. Kept thinking it was going to be near-impossible, but managed to flukily complete it! -

Registered 14 years agoDo people weigh themselves with or without the Wiimote?
Last night my weight went down a load, but then later on I realised I wasn't holding the Wiimote... -

Registered 20 years agoDefinitely a good idea not to be holding the Wiimote, you'd be surprised how much the Wii Fit board thinks it weighs.
Same goes for clothes. I made the mistake of registering jeans and a T shirt as "lightweight clothing" but last night for curiosity's sake I weighed my jeans on their own (with my usual keys, pocket full of coppers and wallet) and the fucking things weigh about 3 lbs on their own! GAH!!
So I've taken to wearing the mankini. -

Registered 15 years agoMy mom bought a wii with this after having a go with wii sports at my house the other day. I had a go and its a really good piece of kit.
Can't find this in stock anywhere now though - only places you can buy are on-line - eg amazon but selling way above the rrp some as high as £150 and I'm not paying that much. -

only just unlocked it, struggled at first but mainly due to the wii fit board being too close to the wiimote sensor. Once I moved the board back it seemed ok.
Like the step aerobics, I think it is one that requires a couple of practice games to get in your head. Enjoyed the end of game punchfest though. -

I'm not sure but I think the light and heavy clothing settings include the weight of the wiimote too. I'll have to do some investigating with the bathroom or kitchen scales... -

OK OK! I've only played it twice, I'll post back when I get 350+

Ok I trolled this page many a time for several months on how shit this would be and how it would turn out to be just another piece of tack.
But fuck me I was so incredibly wrong. This is the most fun I have had in years, and my god I can really see the potential in it now (after laughing at some of you for saying just that!). The skiing- WOW. And I love the dancing! This thing is great, when I play this I completely forget about MK and GTA4 I have sitting in front of me and just want to increment my fitpig thing. So please feel free to slap me if you ever see me on the street, as I was an idiot (I'll be the one with the killer abs
)
p.s. The Jogging! I CAN FEEL THE BURN! -
Anyone know if you can 'daisy-chain' lots of excercises together to make a 'set' I can just do in the morning and jump stright into the shower?
I'd like to get 30 mins of excercise in 30 minutes, not 10 mins workout, and endless clicking next as the wiiboard bores me to tears
Anyone?
