All I know is, if that's real-time, it's amazingly gorgeous.

I do think it was real-time, cause the environments seemed to have aliasing.

Some of the shots looked like they were in-game replays, and forsooth, it did indeed look absolutely breathtaking.

Later this year, Sony will tease GT5 with the release of a downloable demo called Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Prologue is going to be a full-featured demo that includes online functionality for multiplayer racing.

This year already? Nice one! It even mentions dashboard details in the video. Can we hope for cockpit views then?

I can't wait for this game, however knowing Polyphony it wont be out until 2012.

Wow, the lighting just got even better. Some of the car lighting is probably pre-calculated, looks spectacular though.

Nice to see normal usage of reflections, bloom, etc. as opposed to cranking all those to 500% just because it can be done.

I noticed that on prologue they didn't say realtime / running in game, but for a lot of other games they did. Doesn't confirm one way or another though.

GT always looks best in replays. As soon as I start playing it they all blend into one another...

I think they definitely need to think about somehow making the racing closer and more challenging to actually give me a reason to save a replay in single player mode - but if '5 is going to be online, surely there is the potential for some legendary saved-video footage of close online battling between buddies?

GTHD looked pretty damn stunning, so if the GT5 isn't real time, then I'd be disappointed.

I'm not worried about real time or not, since it's most probably from their replays, like others have mentioned.

They've managed to improve the depth of field stuff a lot, also the car self shadows are at higher res.

I was hoping to see more engine rendered stuff, everything until the first top down view of the Audi R8 is rendered/post processed.
