As far as I can gather, I should basically be snorting Huel.

Get the stronglifts app and do that, it's a good starter program and it won't take you long to do it 3 times per week. Don't worry about starting heavy, just good form.

I don't have a gym buddy and I'm worried I'll fuck up free weights.

If you start light and concentrate on form you should be fine. The only thing you would have to worry about really is squats and the power rack has built in spotters to catch the bar if anything goes wrong so you don't get hurt. Maybe get a single PT session and have them take you through the basics and you will be good to go.

Definitely get a decent coach to show you. And buy a copy of Starting Strength (Rippetoe)

An old Communist buddy of mine have me a copy of that years ago. Think I used to use it as a rolling surface.

Also been doing 50 press ups every morning.

Do any of you guys use meal replacement shakes etc? Is stuff like Huel any good?

Whatever you do, don’t train legs.

My legs are in pretty decent shape. And I have a great ass.

    No. No.

Eat proper food, the concept of those shakes is ridiculous. "Processed food made me fat, best glug down this processed food to sort that"

It's more I don't eat because I don't have time. I rarely get the chance for breakfast at home, and almost never get to stop for lunch at work.

And I like the idea of eating heavily processed vegan Soylent Green. Fits well with my aesthetic.

Which is part of my aesthetic.

The above-mentioned Starting Strength book is excellent, you can also watch these videos with the author of that book:

Has anybody used TrainingPeaks before? Crikey, it's thorough, but the nerd in me loves all the data it surfaces. While Strava has Fitness & Freshness charts to help quantify your efforts, this is on a different level. Just waiting on all my historic Garmin data to be imported . Shame I'm coming to the end of my 'season' (lol)…

May give it a go, just binned Strava Premium, they seem to be giving you more garbage data and less useful stuff, selling the same thing back to you and calling it something new (Summit) was the final straw.

It would be much less annoying if they were the actual lyrics, such a shame.

Tried to step it up a bit tonight. I haven't got the bottle for free weights try but I'm trying that 5x5 methodology from StrongLifts with resistance machines.

    Good lord I'm spent now.
