There ya go. That's not to say tuna and chicken breasts aren't excellent sources of clean food, just the nonsense about 1 gram per pound per day is NUTS and I'm pretty sure the protein powder guys are in leagues with the stool softener marketeers
Whatís your recommendation re protein intake? (Genuinely interested, not being a dick)

It varies depending on a person's size and levels of exercise. But almost everyone who's trying to get maddd gainz thinks they have to eat way too much*.

I'm 210lbs (let's be charitable and say I'm bulking), at about 11% body fat (sorting that out before summer!), I'm pretty active and I probably eat about 100g per day on average (I don't count macros). That's about half what the brosephs at Bodybuilding.com suggest for my maintenance.

*Including me, when I started weight training I got horrible nutrition advice from coaches, including GOMAD

1 month after starting yoga I have to say its pretty amazing. I feel that I'm hardly doing anything (though some bits hurt) yet I'm much more defined and much stronger. I'm also a lot more flexible as I can touch my toes for the first time in my life now. Wish I'd not waited until my 50's to make this discovery.

My wife's even noticed... she was the one that pointed it out to me as I don't do staring into mirrors.

I started a bit of stretching. Doing the Hollywood body plan which as far as I can tell is mostly repurposed Yoga. I'm the most inflexible man in the world. It's also got intermittent fasting which I like - I'm trying to squeeze all my calories in an eight hour window. Feeling pretty good, lots of energy, sleeping well.

It does suggest one 500 calorie day a week though and I'm not sure I can do that. I'm still trying to hit the gym/run every day and having googled what 500 calories will get you, I don't think an omelette is going to cut it. I'd pass out by four.

I wouldn't be confident the Bundy Express drivetrain could take the additional load

Canada doesn't have beaches. Just ice shelves.

That's why a Canadian will react when saltwalter is splashed on them. Like vampires.

Fit and sexy people of EG, I have recently come to the conclusion that I'm slightly overweight being 6'1" and about 95kg and want to lose about 10kg/get back to being able to comfortably wear 36" trousers.

I get the basics of what I need to do: More cardio & eat less shit.

My issue is finding things to eat which are healthy and reasonably priced as well as trying to find some cardio I can tolerate doing.

On a normal day I'd have cereal (Weetabix/Cheerios) for breakfast; A sandwich, 2 pieces of fruit and a bag of crisps for lunch; dinner could quite literally be anything. Up til dinner, I don't think it's too bad so meal suggestions would be most appreciated!

When I got the gym I generally go on the resistance machines and maybe 10-15 minutes on the bike/treadmill however this may only occur depending on my mood after the machines. Does anyone have any tips on what may make it more enjoyable? Would I be better off trying to find a HIIT setting on the equipment/doing a spin class or something so I'd be too shattered to care?

Body fat is much more closely aligned to your diet than any exercise you do. Cut out all sweets, chocolate, ideally stop all dairy, reduce the crisps, and stop drinking alcohol. Do whatever exercises you want, but more cardio wonít lead to weight loss unless you do an absolute fuckload of it.

I like my cereal and cups of tea and coffee though. Would I be better off switching to soy/almond milk then?

The crisps I could quite happily do without but it's finding something to replace them with that isn't packed with sugar. I'd quite like to have raisins or cereal bars but they appear to have loads of sugar in them.

Fruit, nuts? You could make some of those pressed energy balls with dates.

Or swap the crisps for rice cakes or crisp breads, perhaps, if itís the texture that pleases you.

I think a high-intensity class would be better than the token 10 minutes on the treadmill.

It's all just common sense, and hundreds of small decisions with food choices rather than one big one.

Although it's true about exercise not being close to diet in terms of dropping weight, the immeasurable impact is what exercising has on a psychological level to resolve to eat healthier

    @super_whiskey

IMO start by whacking everything you eat into MyFitnessPal so you know how many calories are actually in what you eat.

Then you can work out what to cut out.

Re: Meal ideas, my under600 calorie meals are (homemade) chicken curry/chili and brown rice, stir fry chicken with soy sauce, garlic, ginger and noodles, or fresh pasta with tomato sauce, broccoli baby corn and ham, stuff like that.

The trick is to bulk up the meals with low calorie things like broccoli.
