Don't do what I'm currently doing which is plenty of exercise, but still smashing down loads of chocolate and crisps. I feel much healthier, but I'm losing weight very slowly.

I like my cereal and cups of tea and coffee though. Would I be better off switching to soy/almond milk then?
Itís not so much switching, itís that cutting out dairy means cutting out ice cream, chocolate, cake, biscuits, lasagne, fondue, cheese and pickle sandwiches, eclairs, pastries, etc etc etc and you indirectly end up cutting out tons of shit you hadnít planned on but will benefit from cutting

Cheese is the one I would really struggle with. What do I put in my sandwiches?

Body fat is much more closely aligned to your diet than any exercise you do. Cut out all sweets, chocolate, ideally stop all dairy, reduce the crisps, and stop drinking alcohol. Do whatever exercises you want, but more cardio wonít lead to weight loss unless you do an absolute fuckload of it.
Absolutely this. Start small at first though... Binning crisps and/snacks for example. No point making changes unless they can stick.

Crisps should be a controlled substance.

In a good example of "you can't outwork a shit diet"... I'm doing the Tour of Sufferlandria this week (basically extremely hard turbo trainer sessions) and I'm still gaining weight because I'm eating like a fucking pig.

Still, my aim is performance gain, so all good. :D

Hoummus opens up a lot of sandwich doors, roasted peppers, tomatoes, onions etc salady things, thereís tuna and other tinned fish, you can put some scrambled egg or an omelette in a sandwich. Loads of stuff. I had to stop dairy for health reasons and it was mind boggling at first but you soon get used to it. They put milk in almost every convenience food, itís a real eye opener when you start looking at how much cow lactate you actually consume. I stopped it all cold turkey and lost 4kg in a month without doing anything different otherwise

Everybody's digestive system will thank them for ditching dairy.

Having said that, it's easy for me as I think cheese STCOG

The only acceptable cheeses are mozzarella and those processed cheese slices.

I used to cane the dairy after a lifetime of condinitioning by the state to believe itís an essential foodstuff packed with nutrients, when I stopped I had a comedown like Iíd been on Mandy and finally figured out what had been making me feel constantly sick for the previous year. I couldnít even consider drinking a glass of milk now, gets more rank the more I think about it

I haven't entirely cut dairy but it's heavily, heavily reduced. I eat a pizza every month or so, so it's really cheese slices in a burger where I get any.
Which is also the only place I eat bread too.

I don't do tons of dairy as I don't like milk and rarely eat cheese, but I eat bread by the metric FUCKTON. I'd find it hard to cut back on at all let alone give up completely.

I exercise a lot, have started the day with a fruit/veg/etc smoothie for years, decent lunch, nearly always cook fresh for tea. All good. But once the kidís in bed I can feel an irrationality descend on me- massively raid the cupboard from about 9-10. All resolve crumbles and then I go to bed on it all. Iíve got decent willpower throughout the day but all bets are off during the WITCHING HOUR

Lol. Any decent smoothie recipes? Trying to increase my veg/fruit intake and minimise shitty cereal/eggs for breakfast intake.

Nothing, in particular. Itís just too easy to eat lots of them often and not cooked in the healthiest manner (ie scrambled with butter or fried).
