I've done 7 minutes before and I'm probably stronger than I was then so it's not that much of a stretch but my aerobic fitness is probably worse. It will be interesting anyway.
I don't swim anymore, every time I do it now I fuck my shoulder up again and its not worth it.

Under 6 is my target. That would be top 5 worldwide for 30-39 year olds on the website though which might be a stretch too far.

'Sean McClellan' in the USA did a 6:00.1

    Would fucking shoot myself

Well I've lost 9lbs since hitting cardio + weights. It's hard work keeping it going though. Curse my blood sugar's playing havoc with my system.

As an aside, whilst resistance=10 means you go faster, I got warned by someone who rowed seriously (proper water stuff) that too much at erg at 10 can fuck up your shoulders. I was advised to rein it in to about 7.

You are properly quick though. I think my best used to be about 1:55/500 pushing to 1:40 for the last 3-4 hundred m. These days it's nearer to 2:15-2:20. Older age is shit.

    I have only ever done 5 & 10k's though.

Maybe i shoukd try more short, quick 2k hits, it would be quicker and give a harder all out workout than longer distances I'm sure.

I kind of like the boring endurance stuff though. Find your groove & just grind it out.

10k is all mental- past the halfway point is much easier, especially running down that last 2k! 😃

My shoulder is already fucked (hockey injury from 20 years ago), but yeah I get the gist :)

Endurance is cool, too, but I'm on the hunt for quick fitness gains, so short intense beats long aerobic.

Plus the child-like goal obsession. I genuinely think if I do meet an untimely end it will be due to chasing some stupid bullshit challenge that will mean nothing to anyone else

I took my ex (then wasn't, natch) to 127 Hours at the cinema, and they said "that's you, only you'd be worried about the data on the Garmin rather than your arm being trapped"

Any of you used a chiropractor? I have been having some issues with my back and it's not going away. Every morning when I wake up it's locked and I can't move very easily. The last few days my spine has been feeling sore to the touch as well all day. Is it worth seeing one or is it all just bollocks, I have read so many mixed reports online that I'm not sure who to believe

Go to the docs and get a referral to physio. Chiropractors and osteos will probably get you mobile again but if you don't address the underlying problem with exercises then you'll be back to square one in no time.

Edit: I've used both in the past... I'd probably go osteopath over chiro (feels like they can do less damage..) , but the latter did wonders to sort out a football hip injury which left me unable to walk once. Its still fucked today of course as I never followed it up with exercises...

Just 59 seconds, lol. It's also worth noting that was in a boat on some fucking water, which is all sides up much more difficult than brute forcing shitty form on a rowing machine in my basement

    Just did my bench testing.

    Got 145kg.
Reckon I could have managed 150 but my spotters had to go back to work, and it's enough for now.

Really, donít see a chiropractor- itís amazing theyíre still allowed to practice given the quackery itís all built on.
I can self refer to the physio department at my local hospital. Last time I did it Iíd been seen and had an exercise program within 5 weeks. There was a online form too so I didnít even need to speak to Karen on reception- perhaps have a search?

Meth may help in these situations.
