    PES is a gene-shaming, booty-hating, perv-stopping, exercise-halter.

I was asking about a minimal-equipment home gym a while back. Right now I'm recovering from minor surgery so I'm trying to put together a possible workout routine based on a kettlebell and a pull-up bar, preferably a circuit to help with fat loss.

Anybody know of a good routine?

Ears, so nothing that will interfere with any movements. I just need to avoid touching them and keep blood pressure and sweating down to a minimum for another 2 weeks or so.

Derbs is pretty knowledgeable about routines. Try summoning him to the thread?

This one does a lot of good movements

    https://www.coachmag.co.uk/kettlebell-workouts/7115/a-15-minute-kettlebell-workout-for-weight-loss

Any kettlebell routine should revolve around the swing. It's such a great movement for flexibility, strength, fitness and fat burning.

Really invest in the time to get GREAT at doing them. YouTube video tutorials aplenty

Agree with PES about the swing - itís a staple. Make sure you donít squat and pop to swing the weight, the movement is a hip hinge: knees slightly bent, push your butt back while leaning forward - you should feel it in your hamstrings - and then push the hips forward and squeeze your butt tight, which is what moves the weight. The shoulders control it but donít lift it, and you donít need to go above shoulder height - save that for presses.

In terms of routine, just pick a few standard compound movements - swing, squat, overhead press, lateral raises (use tins of beans or something if you donít have light weights),Turkish get-ups, plank pulls, etc, and either do them in circuits or pick a couple and do EMOMs for 10-20 minutes. Pull/press-ups, and wall holds are great too. You can change the difficulty by changing the angle of the body for a lot of things using the edge of a chair or bed.

Thereís no wrong answer really. Google kettlebell movements and get at it.

Heh, wasn't exercise related - but has put the mockers on anything serious for a while.

Note to self: when coming down ladder always check where the ground is.

I'd forgotten that I'd place the ladders on a raised bed in the garden whilst trimming hedges. So, whilst I was near the bottom of the ladder, I was still another 80cm or so off tge lawn. Step back wards, all weight on one leg and when I hit the ground it hyper extended and twisted. Queue an audible pop, grind and me hitting the deck like a sack of spuds.

So, if it does go to surgery, which is not a given anymore, apparently, it will be ACL repair number 3. 2 on left and now right knee is buggered too.

    Ouch! Get well soon.

Knees are shit, I've dislocated my right one several times. I remember once seeing a documentary where a physiologist said that knees essentially disprove intelligent design because they are so shit that no intelligent being could have come up with them.

    Ouch indeed.

Someone took my work shoe from the gym changing room yesterday. Just one of them. It's very confusing. My locker was full so I put my shoes under the bench (this is customary), came back from my workout and one shoe was missing. Who steals a shoe?

Maybe Teresa has been watching you work out and she's took it as a souvenir.

Watching your old man ballbag dangling out of your gym shorts is probably going to be too much for her.

I did actually! A few days later someone had left it under the bench where it went missing. I assume it was wanked into / onto
