You shouldn't really be doing static stretches before lifting anyway, unless you're directly following them up with dynamic stretches and then starting the workout.

Dynamic stretching before, static stretching after.

I went to the gym yesterday for the first time in at least 10 years. There's machines that go ping and everything. Amazing.

Are you sure it was the machines going ping

I didn't hook myself up to the HR monitors. Thought it for the best considering.

It's cool, I have an hour of dead time every Saturday with kids in and out of swimming lessons and my wife is at her dance class thing, so thought I really should put it to better use than browsing the internets.

    Good work, Dougs.

Did you get one of the bikes behind the jiggly treadmills

Sadly the aspect of the bikes is not best suited to such things. They have them looking out of the window over fields. I had to do my perving more discreetly.

The trick is to predict where they're going to walk to, and stare at that part of the room. If they then choose to walk into your letch, well that's on them

Not so bad yet. Still doing a couple of 5-7k runs if possible, albeit avoiding bits of routes with narrow paths.

Got a concept 2 at home and some weights and the gym is doing daily workout vids to do at home which helps. I really miss being able to go to the gym a lot (& miss football on the telly).

Temptation to eat too much biscuits & chocolate & binge on booze is high though! 😃

I'm on 'holiday' this week too, which is a bit shit being stuck at home.

Iíve actually lost 9kg in the 3 weeks of home isolation. I knew Iíd eat out of boredom/stress so I put myself on a diet.

Bought a 24kg kettlebell last week too, and used it for the first time today. It was brutal but Iím looking forward to working on my swings over the next few weeks.

The weather here has been dogshit so haven't been able to get in the yard to use my salmon ladder (fucking ridiculous) or other such things. Peloton obviously helps mental state and I've got weights and the Concept II but so much of my fitness stuff was outside / proper gym / sports based.

Add to that a real bitch in regards access to daily fresh good food (it has made me realise how often I used to go food shopping) and you get a recipe for a fat cunt

Might be nearing the time to call 111 for me. I've been avoiding the fact that this is probably a blood clot (again), but I don't think I can avoid it any longer. Definitely not getting any better.

Will see how I feel in the morning. Of course, will probably go for a test, it'll be some sort of tear (fuck knows how, I've not been exercising) and catch COVID-19 anyway. :(

Fella, why even take the chance? The NHS doesnít stop looking after other people just because of what is going on.

    Definitely.

I want a Concept 2. Until I rejoin ed the gym, I'd forgotten just how much I enjoyed it.

And definitely getting fat(ter). Have been doing a bit of HIIT, some resistance bandnwork and joining the kids for PE with Joe but exercise some days is virtually nil.

Iíve been amusing myself drawing cocks on the MapMyRun app map.

Perhaps the runners in the thread might like to have a go too. We can have a cock-off.

    😆

I did a pretty bad reindeer on xmas eve, but haven't upped my strava art game to pete's level of cocks & swearing!

Who can work out a route to draw a cocks capacitor in honour of EG?

Because I spent the previous month sick, my local hospital is a coronavirus hotspot and I'm genuinely not convinced I'd survive it if I got it on top of everything else.

I really, really don't want to go near a hospital right now.

Weíre eating pretty well still here. I do almost all the cooking anyway, and the regular menu rotation hasnít really changed at all. Fewer takeaways and restaurant meals too.

But, I have been feeling less fit in the last few days, so Iím back on the old ďonly consume calories between 12:00 and 20:00Ē regime which always makes me feel better, but I end up falling off the wagon after a time.

Leg now much improved. My activity levels are rising again too, trying to make sure I don't get into another situation where being locked at a desk fucks my circulation.

Vaguely related, just ordered a plyo box. Not planning on jumping on it (I'm old and will smash my face)... but it should be useful for doing step ups / box squats etc which will help me rehab my hip / glutes.

Any physios on here? Iíve done something weird to my armpit. If I extend my arm above my head I have a stringy tendon running almost through the centre of my armpit which is tender. It hurts on full extension of pull-up or if I hit a bag (canít punch at all really).

Smarter readers will probably wonder why i have a tendon running through my armpit when there shouldnít be one there. I was wondering the same. Never been there before, itís not on opposite arm. Only thing I can think is itís from that big bunch of muscle on outside of armpit. Google says cobrachialis?

Has anyone suffered similar? Wondering what to do as Iím pretty sure the muscle is in completely the wrong place like itís torn away. Will it fix on its own? I donít want to bother the NHS but all the physios are shut. Next step was online physio I guess unless someone can tell me it will right itself? Not painful at all until I hang or punch, but worried about long term. Any ideas? No idea how it happened.

Edit: Iím lying it would be from inside muscles. Seems to be a tendon on a line drawn from nipple to bicep, sticks out at top of armpit. There is nothing similar on other side 🤷‍♂️
