Don't you care about your carb intake?! -

Indeed. Given I've spent a lot of the last week eating upwards of 200g of sugar a day and have gained zero weight, I'd love to see it.
There's no strong evidence that sugar or carbs cause obesity independent of energy intake. -

Registered 17 years agoSome bastard snuck into the climbing centre during lockdown and increased the gravity. I am absolutely fucked after 45 minutes bouldering. -

Registered 15 years agoI have fallen off the wagon so hard the last few weeks. Alcohol is my downfall. Once I have a few beers, the work outs stop, the walking stops, the running stops. Pretty sure the only way I can get healthy is by going tea total. -

Registered 14 years agoGoing back to work has made my weight loss flatline. Lost 3st in the last lockdown but stayed at 14st the last 3 weeks.
Unsurprising really, less running, less control over diet (I manage a bar and restaurant). I am dragging myself out this morning for a 10k before work today though. -

Registered 6 years agoHalf-term has been my undoing. Mainly in terms of exercise rather than diet.
Work is about to ramp up too but at least being at home most of the time I’ll keep some control -

Registered 15 years agoThe lack of self control after alcohol thing is why I try to limit it to once or twice a week. It's easy to go a bit mental once you've had a few. -

Registered 17 years agoYou don’t even have to go ham. Typically you’re drinking at the end of the day after calories have already been accounted for in the previous meals, so any additions are just stacking up excess. -

Registered 11 years agoMorrison’s have started doing some low calorie salted caramel ice cream…..84 cals a stick.
They are like fucking crack…..also perfect for nullifying the craving for sweet food. -

Registered 16 years agoNever been affected by alcohol like that really, I drink spirits mainly anyway. It definitely knocks my performance the day after though, at least 10% off my usual output if I’ve had a few martinis the night before -

Ah, the old latch on to something that was said once, and then repeat it ad nauseum because it's just absolutely hilarious and definitely not tedious as fuck.

I have discovered that red wine is my issue in terms of alcohol intake. I love a beer but usually done after 2 or 3 these days unless on a sesh in a pub. I might then only have 1 or 2 G&Ts before being done. But if I start on the red, there is no stop valve. I am incapable of just having that glass with dinner. And then the next day, diet does out of the window too. So yeahz I should give up really.

Registered 15 years agoThe only thing that doesn't do it for me is straight spirits, but I rarely drink that as I need to be in the right mood for it. -

Registered 16 years ago4 beers on a night out for me plus food so that’s an extra 800 calories for beer and 1000 for food.
And then bacon sandwich the next day.
My stomach now pops out of my clothes when I sit on the sofa. -

Registered 5 years agoI think it's always the next day that's worse.
When I used to "get on it" most of it would come out in shit, piss or vomit the next day but the food...that stayed. -
Ok so help me here EG collective. I tend to eat waaaaay too many carbs.
Ironically, I really like fresh veggies and fruits but I just find them a bit too much of a hassle to prepare compared to, say, boiling some spuds or eating some bread. Plus I find the carb rich foods far more filling.
Oh, and I don't eat meat (do eat fish though, if that helps)
Any advice? -

Registered 6 years agoI was super similar, reducing bread and largely avoiding snacks helps me.
I’ve kept tea the same as before to hopefully dodge the urge to binge after restricting unsustainably -

Bizarrely, that's at once the easiest and hardest to ditch. I really don't rate bread but it's almost impossible to find something for lunch other than sandwiches around here. Well, disregarding stuff that's even worse (doughnuts and the likes)
Just ditch the bread -

I almost don't snack actually. I don't have a sweet tooth and can easily stick to three, even two, meals per day. It's mostly supper that's the problem; it tends to be a silly amount of carbs.
