The French aren't overweight generally are they.
21.6% of their population are obese, 4% in Japan.
They’re much better than the UK but hardly a poster boy for being slim.
Ok that's quite surprising. I'll stick to my belief that they have a healthier relationship with food than Anglo Saxon cultures though.
They do but so does almost every country in the world.
I haven't a clue but suspect the amount of highlyprocessed food consumed in the likes of the UK and US is the biggest issue.

The French eat just as much shit as we do, they don’t drink anywhere near as much though. The thin ones all smoke 60 Gauloises a day as well

Probably why the meals are under 700 calories!

Oven fish and oven chips with beans for tea.

Were they oven beans (slurry) for the holy trinity of ovenness?

Doesn't seem to be a strongman thread... so I'll just post in here to say Tom Stoltman (Scotland) is doing incredibly well again in World's Strongest Man, first at the end of day one with a bunch of events that suit him to come in day two.

Another milestone reached. 76 kg (started at 84), and waist down to 95cm from 106. Think would be another 4 or so kg gone, but I now have a body that actually is starting to show proper muscle.

Turns out personal trainers really are the shit, as opposed to fucking up your body with cardio and weights without having a clue how to do it properly. Got a nice routine now.

    Monday 60-90 minutes weights
Tuesday cardio. Maybe a 2 hour walk or a 30km cycle.
Wednesday gym with pt where I cry like a little girl in agony.
    Thursday cardio
Friday 60-90 minutes weights at home.

Weekends get drunk and undo 60% of the weeks work, but 40% is enough gain to make progress.

I rate it the second best money I have ever spent (after laser eye surgery.) Best I have felt in years. Even my asthma has disappeared. Gone from daily use of inhaler to not taking in a month.

    Nicely done.

I need to get back on the weights. Dropped them for a month to concentrate on my cycling event and my body has already started to take on that sickly endurance look. Gained ~4% bodyfat too, though I'm at the end of a rest period so not massively surprised there.

    Best slurry recipe:

Fry some chorizo and finely chopped garlic in a pan. Once the oil has released, pour in your tin of beans and add some Tabasco to taste.

Use with jacket potato or any other carb

    Win.

    Wow... (WSM2021)

Whoever wins the stones out of Tom Stoltman and Brian Shaw wins the title.

You'd have to be pretty ballsy to bet against Tom, but it's probably Brian's last chance to ever win it...

No idea. My coverage has consisted of Reddit, refreshing a spreadsheet and watching Big Loz on youtube.

Oh my god that sounds sexual! Not sure about the nutritional value though 🙈

Two weeks without any exercise or really leaving the house due to a sick child, nursery shutting due to sickness and then catching the lurgy myself.

Really need to get out this week. Might just do exclusively long routes even if I can’t run the whole length just to be moving.
