    Despite having a good internet connection my man cave has always suffered from a very intermittent connection - some days it's ok and other days it's a nightmare. So I bought a powerline pass through connector today and now it's flying...getting about 8 to 10mb per second downloads on steam now rather than 500kb!

    Happy days!

    Was working on a client's corporate pension fund for Porsche today, noticed they've assigned it an internal reference code of T911 :)
  • Deleted user 11 February 2016 19:34:56

    Hah, congrats!

    The missus has just started a PHD herself in September in Psychology - she's not finding it as hard as she expected and if it helps she said the jump from a Bachelor's Degree to a Masters was a lot tougher than the jump from the Masters to a PHD.

    Still, it's only been two months so take it with a massive dose of salt!

    A good week at work.

    If the Treasury approve the budget bid then work are going to make my position permanent.

    Also, I finished my first substantial piece of work and the Principal said it was "excellent".

    /smug

    Nah, excellent work mate, fingers crossed for the permanent role man, don't want you going back to 'The Wasteland' aka Lincoln.

    I feel the same way too, not my home town just England in general. It changes my mood and outlook for the worse when I go back.

    Absolutely - it's not really got anything to offer me either mate. How's Andorra? How's the teaching?

    It's good this year, only 1 annoying class because of one cunt kid, and he is a cunt, other than that it's good. A fair people I met last year have left such is the transient nature of living abroad as a forrin but new people come in and I got a mate of mine a job at my work so it's nice to have someone you know well with you. Getting cold now and snow season is coming, think I might try snowboarding this year.

    Haha. As far as I know he went back to Saudi, they can keep the nutter. It's alright, this year we've got a new teacher, a white woman from Zimbabwe who refers to it as Rhodesia and says 'we' made it better but it's all been ruined now by certain people. Oh and she's a committed Christian. So yeah.

    Speaking of old lady helping, I went to go down the escalator in M&S today and spotted a frail one hovering at the top, looking uncertain. I asked if she was OK and she replied "I don't like these things", I said, no worries- if you just look ahead there's a doorway to the stairs about 100 feet over there. "Thanks", she said, looking a bit relieved. I metaphorically slapped my hands together in a job done type way and smugly went down the escalator before realising, at the bottom, she probably just wanted to hold my arm and take the significantly shorter route down with me.
    Also, she probably voted for Brexit so what I actually should have done is peeled the escalator edge up, pushed her and watched as she was slowly macerated into the thing. Next time.

    Sounds like a catch. I look forward to hearing about your escapades in the Match thread ;)

    TBF it will probably be your only chance to go out with a Rhodesian woman.

    @BillMurray

    Cheers man! What are you up to, Bill? Still in Grimsby?

    @Jono62

    If the Premier Inn is the one on Broadgate then there's a pub called The Jolly Brewer about two minutes up the road which is about as good as they get in downhill Lincoln.
