New shed coming on Wednesday - somewhere to store random crap I don't use that's vaguely garden related - I'm not building it myself which is why it's in the happy thread and not the manly one :-)

    @TechnoHippy

We bought one a while back, the firm delivered and installed...in about 20 minutes! I know it is "only" floor, sides and roof but still I was impressed.

It's only and 8x6, but the next one will be bigger to become a Lego/hobby room for me. It's a firm I've used before, so hopefully no complications.

I assume once you know what you're doing then it's trivial. I was spirit levelling everything so I could make sure it didn't end up like the leaning tower. :D

Unless it was made from Lego I'd probably make a pig's ear of it :-) Now there's an idea - giant lego brick sheds :-)

Had my home visit to check I can take on a rescue dog, and all is good, so hopefully I'll have a dog in the next few days :-)

@TechnoHippy Awesome! What do they check, do you need to have a garden?

@Fake_Blood The garden was the main check - making sure that it was secure. The dog I'm taking on is considered a flight risk because he's do nervous of people, so if he did escape he would be hard to get back. I'm going to have to be patient with him, but hopefully as he settles I'll be able to socialise him a bit.

Fantastic! Iíve had three rescues now, never had the puppy experience because all three were being sold on Facebook when they werenít cute puppies any more, ugh.
Come with a few quirks, mostly ironed out now, but I donít think Iíll ever fully stop the big one jumping up to say hello and the little one terrifying children on scooters 😲
Expect about three nights before it settles, good luck!

He's an 8 or 9 year old (they're not quite sure on his age) German Shepard. He has a lovely temperament, but he's very shy.

Well, all dogs are great, but GSD are top tier doggos...

Can you find out any history on him? Previous owners, guess at his lifestyle, etc. Might help you manage him going forward.

Also, get a really good hoover.

So what's the procedure here come Saturday? Let him check out the yard and leave a door open so he can come in when he feels like it? I suppose he's being kept in kennel right now?
Do they give any advice for the first days?

The previous owners had a lot of them, but they weren't well cared for. He runs if you try and stroke him, but other than that he's quite chilled, just very shy.

Yeah, they've provided advice and I had to do an online course as well.

For the first few days I'll let him hide wherever he wants in the house. Until he settles I need to keep him on a lead even in the garden and they've advised not letting him out of the garden for the first week. He is in a kennel at the moment. I'll have to be patient with him and just let him get comfortable.

A good mustarding of the anus to show who's 'top dog' i guess.

Or is that not recommended if you want to keep your face on your skull?

    😃

You could always mustard your own while maintaining constant eye contact.

    Who's the alpha now, HMMMMMMMM?????
