    Woohoo!

I bought my mother a TV a couple of days ago and I've been dreading testing it. Of the three LCDs I bought prior to it, every single one has had to go back because of dead pixels or clouding (one of them more than once). This one seems fine though, nothing I could notice... though I did have a couple of scares with dust on the screen looking like dead pixels.

Can't say what a relief it is. Was really expecting the usual bullshit. \o/

Just received a university offer! \o/

So fucking happy - I thought that, after my failed first year and subsequent dropout, I'd have to consider a career in shelf-stacking...

I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Hopefully the bridge is made of employers throwing money at my humanities degree.

My 360 (3 yo 20gig pro) is still holidaying in Germany. Not great news, except I have decided to finally treat myself with some of my savings, and have just reserved a new elite at pc world.
Elite, 2x controllers and 2x games for £199. I know I could poss get a slightly better deal online somewhere, but fook it, I want it noooow... (well after work) so it is reserved and waiting for me to go and pick it up. Just hope my daughter doesn't hog it too much when I get home as I feel really childish stropping and saying 'But it's mine, and I want to play on it first' to a 9yo girl.

My Dad was like this over the ZX81. He made us all do several hours of chores before we were allowed on it. Never washed windows so quickly in my life.

Just tell her it requires a complicated amount of set-up and explain that you want to make sure it works properly before she uses it. Lie, lie to your offspring, with joy in your heart.

Pah, missus has just finished with the good tv in the lounge, so I set it up and prepare to do the data transfer for the new hard drive. Plug it in and do all the doings...estimated time left for format and transfer, 1hr25mins. Oh well, might be a late one tonight and a lazy day at work tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and ZX81, wow. Are you a rich chick. We only had the 48k, and caught parents 'testing' it for santa a few nights before Christmas.

Am expecting a Gavin Clark album later this year, he of Sunhouse, Clayhill, UNKLE, and Shane Meadows soundtrack fame.

No ordinary album - a double album no less!

Nope, not rich, but my Dad had a feeling computers were going to be really important so we had a KIM-1 kit computer when I was about 7, which I got to build with him and my older brothers. And then my gran won some money at bingo and gave it to my Dad for us and he spunked it all on tech For Our Own Good. We had a ZX80, ZX81 and BBC Micro on release, then an Atari ST later on.

Yeah, I was a real hit with the boys when I was 12. It's all been downhill since then. Stupid widely available technology.

:D there's just something about Elite...

I did have it (/polishes Elite badge proudly) - but sadly I don't have any of the machines any more as one of my brothers snuck into the roof and nicked off with them when he left home. I've never forgiven him.

We never had a Spectrum though, I was always gutted by that, had to go to my mate's to play Atic Atac.

Turn your volume up at bit, and enjoy Nolan's cheddar

I was able to measure a slight (but significant) increase in happiness having watched/listened to it.

I have a third date with a woman I really quite like this evening. She's interesting and funny and smart and good looking.

It's all going to go wrong, isn't it?

Today is Wednesday. traditionally midweek. It still is really, but seeing as I have tomorrow, Friday and Saturday off work to have fun with my daughter during the half term, midweek holds no worries for me today. WHOOP WHOOP.

Fair play mate, hope you have a good time.

I shall be having a very quiet weekend which to be honest I am very much looking forward to.
