Feeling happy that my new tie has arrived today. £2 well spent I feel.

Yes, I realise it's not much to be excited about, but I'm easily pleased!

Giving money to a homeless person does not mean that you're now dating, SJ.

Philistines. 'Tis a late 40's / early 50's hand painted American tie, made of the finest Rayon!

I like it. But as I said, I'm easily pleased.

It does look like the owner's name is on the inside there.

I think it looks lovely. Just the thing to tie a Thai boy up tight.

Bit random, but our reconditioned alloys are coming back tomorrow :) Finally I can stop feeling guilty about the scratch marks down the passenger side where I hit the ice last year on a corner and properly kerbed them

Oh, also, turns out I get ( 6 whole weeks) maternity pay, despite being on a contract. Which is also good, and the reason I spent some of the money I'd saved on the assumption I wasn't getting any MP on sorting the alloys.

I really like the fact that Tom Ravenscroft is on 6Music. He's not his dad (John Peel), but he carries his spirit within. He's good company and brings me new sounds. Not all of which I like, but I guess that's part of the legacy.

Did you really have to bump this, I'd almost forgot about that hideous fucking tie.
It's an awesome tie, I've worn it twice so far... and bought some more!

Useful for scaring small children & clearing supermarket queues too.

Hadn't seen this. It's a fantastic tie allright, I'd join a queue you were in just to be near it. Brilliant.

    Check this bad boy out.

    Best tie ever

I've seen that advert before... but have yet to track down the tie.

How can anyone resist this? By day, a lovely swank tie ... by night, a call to love in glowing words!

    I *need* this!

They've probably all been impounded due to radium, phosphorus or some other chemical that was the wonder of the age, but actually made you teeth drop out.

But will they surprise and thrill every girl I meet? I think not...

No, only the poisonous, tasteless original will do. It's high class you know and not to be confused with any ordinary novelty tie, arf!

eh..have I missed something?! Congrats if I have! Have you asked Otto for dispensation to join the Dad's Group? Once you get past his tortuous initiation rituals, you should be fine.

Er, yes :) 18wks weeks now. Had my first full-on Cronenberg body horror invasion panic attack yesterday, which was fun. There is a person growing inside me. It has built itself, now it just needs to grow. Terrifying stuff. 2 weeks til we know what flavour it is.

Dad's club sounds fun, and I feel fairly certain that my experience of parenthood, like life, will be more closely mirrored to that of you lot than Mumsnet, and yet, it seems likely that one of the primary benefits of Dad's Club is the lack of a female perspective, or input of any kind. So thanks for thinking of me, but I think best not.

    Good news.

Being massively ignorant of most things adult, I was not aware there was a test. I have to say it is something that nags at me, seeing that I am in my 30's and no plans to have children in the next couple of years it is a relief to see you can have have that information.
