'The Making Of' Special Features: Which are the best?

I have a HUGE hankering for really good 'Production' features on DVDs at the moment. Just devouring all the Alien 'quadrilogy' special features at the moment, and of course I've seen the Terminator 2 set, and the Lost in La Mancha film.

Can anyone recommend any other really good, honest, documentaries in the Special Features of any UK DVDs, that are on set and cover warts and all?

There's a really cool documentary on the making of From Dusk Till Dawn floating around somewhere, not a DVD special feature though.

Oh yeah, saw that on telly a few years ago. That was cool, you're right. :)

Not really the same thing but...say Commentries on TV series like 24 tend to be pretty good. You good a good insight on the actors and the people behind it.

Yeah I'm definitely much more interested in what it was like on the shoot, but I do like some commentaries, such as the ones on Spaced and Shaun of the Dead. Hot Fuzz not so much, because the film's so boring.

The one on the 12 monkeys dvd (somthing with 'hamster' in the title...I'm drunk, can't compute too well).
    Yep, seen that :)

Shawshank redemption anniversary edition spcial features are pretty good, if you like the film (who fucking doesn't) its totally worth the buy.

Episode 1 is another DVD with a very informative making of documentary. The film might be a bit shit, but you really appreciate the skill it takes to create the special effects; especially the pod race.
I don't actually own them and never will. Utter utter shit. Saw the production diaries for Episode 2 though, which were cool.

I really like ones that are actually on set, as opposed to pre-production and 'this is how we made that model/sound effect/computer graphic'.

And I really like ones that are honest about how the film was going down the toilet... ;)

Halo 2 LE also nice, especially considering where the game ended up and what they've said about it now.
You can actually see where they start to drop the ball on certain things.

When it comes to commentaries my fave is not actually a film but Type O Negative - After Dark, it is so fucking funny.

    That is all

If it is the one called Full Tilt Boogie it is on the second disc of the SE DVD.

Yes, and it's great. Now to find that edition of the film somewhere.

Enemy at the Gates had some nice extras on it. A full Documentary on the russian snipers if I remember right.

Black Hawk Down stands out as a film that had loads of nice extras. Plus the genius commentary of the actual Special Forces and Rangers who were there who spend the whole film saying 'That didn't happen', 'We wouldn't have done that', 'He didn't die like that..in fact I think he's still alive' etc.

Se7en has some good extra stuff on the DVD. My fave was the commentary with Fincher and Pitt. Good stuff. There's also a host of technical insights for those who care about such things as changes made to the print ect.

I loved the Fight Club production stuff. I missed the Se7en stuff though, will check it out.

Not LOTR though, I'm not that big a fan of the bum-numbing films that I'd watch them again. (sorry)
