    @FuzzyDucky

I only really like The Gathering Wilderness and To the Nameless Dead, both of which are ludicrously powerful.

    The Coffin Ships is devastating.

    New Kriegsmaschine album.

Basically another band from the guys in Mgla. It's a bit harder for me to process than their other band as it's less melodic but more rhythmically complex. Darkside's drum patterns are frequently ridiculous.

    Quite like it.

Ah nice one, didn't know that a new album was due. Sounds great so far. Thanks for the heads up.

Fingers crossed for a new MGLA album soon as well!

    Speaking of Mgla...

    https://youtu.be/QcqC4jtrR9Y

    YOU SHALL KNOW PERDITION
AND IT WILL SET YOU FREE

Wreaks havoc with my emotions. The first half of that track makes me feel like I'm going to explode.

Not sure the new KSM is as good as Enemy of Man.

I'm inclined to agree, but it's still pretty good.

    And speaking of Mgla

    "Every empire
    Every nation
    Every tribe
    Thought it would end
In a bit more decent way

    Every prophet
    Every ruler
    Every seer
    Will chew on this ruin
    And repeat ad nauseam"

    Beautifully nihilistic. Chills every time.

    @drhickman1983

    M. is a phenomenal lyricist.

    As if everything was to be made right one day;
    Dreams don't come true
    For people like us.
As if the gods were bored
    With peace in our hearts
    And their fingers are itchy.
As if we never broke people
    Out of sheer boredom
    And slept calmly
    Among the wastes.

And the band have bravely responded with 'no comment' and apparently no sacking either. Fucking hell.

Argh, another firm favourite of mine is releasing a new album in about a month:

A couple of tracks to listen to so far and initial impression is very positive.

Fucking LOVE Svartidauthi. One of the most punishing live acts I've ever seen.

Weirdly, there was a couple fucking in the crowd while they played NBM2013.

I saw them live when I was living in Camden a few years ago (can't remember what venue now disappointingly) and they were something else. Mesmeric, epic and crushing metal, I was transfixed for the set! I did recently wonder when they were releasing something new so very pleased with the news.

Saw The Ocean in London on Friday (the same day their new album came out).

They're pretty damn good live, and the new album is also good stuff. Especially the instrumental version (not that the vocals are bad, I just love me some intstrumental metal).

Anyone else make it out to see Slayer on their "final" tour?

Say what you will about them, this was one of the best shows I've seen, from what my fragmented memory can piece together. If this is really their last tour they're going out with a hell of a bang. Definitely the most exciting arena show I've been to in a long time.

I thought they started a little slowly but once War Ensemble hit things really took off. Some finale with the final run of songs too.

Obituary did great and Anthrax and Lamb of God both played like they're headliners.

(I don't really know LoG but every around us went nuts)

I was in the seats though due to not being able to afford a floor ticket so some of the intensity was a little dissipated

It's taken me 20 years to see Anthrax and Slayer since I discovered them and both more than delivered.

Hell its 17 years since the one chance I had to see Slayer (Wembley with Pantera) was cancelled.

Oh man to see that Hell Awaits intro in person at last

    Slayer in Newcastle last night.

    Unreal. Absolutely Unreal.

How can guys their age, do what they do with the heat of the lights, pyro and such intensity - do it for 19 songs night after night. Incredible.

I would totally pay another 50 quid to go and see them again... Wonder how much it would cost to get to Glasgow for tomorrow night...

Wouldn't be the first time I've seen them twice on the same tour!

I can't wait. Another 6 hour round trip but by crikey it'll be worth it.
