Level 5 are great. They've made brilliant games, but I will honestly call them the best developers in the world if they pull this off

Registered 18 years agoIt's quite an effort to make a football game that doens't enthuse me, it's even more surprising that there's a Level 5 game that doesn't enthuse me. For Level 5 to be making a football game that doesn't enthuse me... is actually surprisingly understandable, despite those two facts. I reserve the right to mark out like a baby once I actually see it, if it's any good. -

Registered 18 years agoThey'll need to make it not actually a football game, which is what I assume they were going for. If I think of it as an RPG based on a sports anime I can kind of get my head around it, but I'm struggling. -

Sounds like Football Pokémon. If it was the Speedball 2 Brutal Deluxe RPG, then we would be talking. -

I'm so easy to please, I'm not convinced by the game yet (although it looks potentially 76 times better than I thought it was going to be), but I absolutely love some of the character names and the ultra cheesy music. I just wish it was an anime... -

Registered 18 years agoIsn't that going to be live action, though? I'm not looking forward to it.
An anime would be ages away if it's not in production now.
That does remind me that I need to finish the first Layton game, though. I'm so bad at playing through handheld games, I think the last one I finished was Sonic Advance. -

Registered 17 years agoYes, Layton will be live action, but the over-the-top moves of the players in Inazuma Eleven wouldn't work very well in a live action film. That's not even considering the character designs.
At best the Layton movie will be a good laugh, probably thanks to lots of unintentionally comical moments...
But even in anime form, video games often suffer horribly when transitioned to film / video / big screen. I have more hopes for the game itself. -

It's now also available on gametrailers, which loads faster and requires no searching for the right buttons. -

Registered 18 years agoReminds me of EyeShield 51 (or was it 21?). Looks good and hopefully the fact that it'sreal football this time will mean that we see it released outside of Japan. -

I'm really coming around to the idea of this after looking through a Famitsu article prompted me to think about it a bit more. I'll still need to read some very positive hands-on impressions before I buy, but I'm not half as sceptical as I was at first. -

Registered 15 years agoThe video for this intrigued me, and it is by Level 5 so all signs seems to say it'll be a good 'un. I don't actually like soccer, though - but it still looks fun even for non-soccer-players like myself

Registered 17 years agoThere is a Inazuma Eleven demo available in Layton 2.
Cubed3:
Back in September, Level 5 offered visitors of the Tokyo Games Show a special treat in the form of a little demo version of its forthcoming RPG for DS ‘Inazuma Eleven’. Now, with the release of the Professor Layton DS sequel in Japan, that demonstration version is no longer as sought after as it once was, since it has been released to the masses via the option screen of Layton and the Devil’s Box.
Any Layton 2 buyers with impressions, ilmaestro?.gif)
Cubed3 have some of their own, but they don't have someone who can read Japanese, so it's a bit of a bland read. -
