Tony I also thought was shit however I liked skate quite a bit, felt like skating back to its roots, focusing on the simple stuff instead of doing Jesus Christ airs in a shopping trolly. Tried PES on the 360. Prefered fifa, which I've already ordered off Play. £40 quid, pretty decent. |

Registered 18 years agoI thought Stuntman was utterly dire and insanely irritating. Sega Rally was alright but I can't say I liked the handling - felt too much like what happens when you bugger up your car in Forza 2...
Skate, on the other hand, I really enjoyed. Never played one of those games before but I had a good laugh mucking around with this one. The frame rate went a bit dodgy occationally but aside from that I thought it looked pretty good. Davinnicus, I think your PS3 must be buggered if you were having major slowdown - I found one bit where it would stutter for second but that was it. -

Registered 16 years agoStuntman was interesting. I could see it getting old fast though, but I reckon it's worth a rent at least. I do like the idea of it a lot.
Sega Rally was pretty poor I thought, everything it does Motorstorm does far better. So does DiRT for that matter. I've been told you have to be a fan of the original games to 'get' it but can't help thinking that sounds like blind nostalgia - I played the original in the arcade a fair few times and thought it was good then, but there's far better racers out there.
Haven't played Skate yet, I'm not interested in skateboarding in the slightest so doubt I'll think much of it but if it's there I may as well give it a try -

Registered 15 years agoSega Rally demo is outstanding! I've seen much better looking games but the handling is sublime. A must purchase for me. The demo has a surprising amount of content really and it lets you play as much as you want.
I also enjoyed stuntman but it looks horrible.
Skate is fun and controls really well. However, half the fun of a game like Tony Hawk for me, is being able to pull off all the outrageous tricks. Skate seems a little 'vanilla' in comparison. -

Registered 17 years agoIf you have a 360 and enjoyed Stuntman you'd be advised to go for that version as it not only looks slightly better visually but it doesn't tear at all unlike the PS3 version. It does have some truly awful slowdown at times though... -

PES 2008 and NBA 2K8 demos sound plausible but the Jericho demo isn't out until next week on the PS3 (this week for the PC and 360 though). As for the Killzone 2 multiplayer beta... highly unlikely given the complete lack of publicity.
