I'm intrigued with where they go next, now that Master Chief is a Reclaimer Human. I mean, after that, surely the next step is finding the Mantle and restoring all of humanity to its original state? And then going to hunt the Old Enemy? And surely, somewhere along the way, there has to be at least one trans-sentient being?

Well, the Mantle is the ultimate responsibility to protect all life in the galaxy. It's not really a thing that can be found, it's a responsibility that has to be undertaken.

Just got a Hail Mary medal in taking down a Banshee in BTB. Cannot wipe the stupid grin from my face! Wish I could share with a link, but that functionality still isn't available is it?

Huh. In the books, they make out as if there's an actual item...

Still, I think going forwards it's all about the Librarian and restoration. Well, and Jul. I assume, as it's set post-campaign, Spartan Ops will be the pointer as to what's coming next.

Finally watched the Spartan Ops cinematics. Bit too close to Gears/most games dude bro without the swearing obviously. Do we really need more of that in games. Eggs heads, we are playing video games but christ grow up. Little nuggets here and there are quite good though. Impressive CG.

Big Team needs to be fixed for Exile. The team who starts at the bottom of the hill always has a massive advantage with the gauss.

In the military there are always nicknames given to other units, often derogatory.
So egghead is just one of those nicknames, just like the eggheads call marines monkeys.

The Limited Edition comes with one for the Assault Rifle, and every Specialisation has one each to unlock as you level. There are 2 Specialisations available to all right now so that should mean 2 weapon camos. Wetworks will unlock a DMR skins, and Operator will unlock a Magnum skin.

Map pack is out - those with LE/War Games Pass will have it between 12 and 2. So sayeth the Waypoint support people.

So, new maps for Halo Monday! And I'll be level 65+

I am overly negative on it, just like the series and more vocal, especially at the tail end of this gen were problems wear thin in any game.

Still playing online and having fun most of the time. Things do annoy me but getting more enjoyment when I just accept it. I'll tone down the hate posts unless it enrages me.

was about to ask about the maps... i'll take a look.

finished solo legendary last night, wasn't too hard at all apart from maybe two encounters where I'd just used the wrong tactics. I thought it was one of the easier campaigns in my opinion.

And my thoughts on the 'stability' perk... not worth the 'ammo' trade off to me. I thought that would be the case... anyone found the specialization perks actually more useful than the standard?

I understand a certain sense of boredom with the game - it's pretty safe. But it's still fun to play online.

The key thing for me, Halo series-getting-on-a-bit aside, is that it's no longer 2008. I am a different person, even only 4 years later.

I think if you could get BF3 scale but somehow keep it Halo then that would be pretty special. I liked BF3 but the aim/shoot mechanic didn't sit well with me after the silkyness of Halos controls.

The aim will indeed be to restore Humanity to its original state and finishing the work of killing of the Precursor(s) and the Flood (yes they will be back). I expect some kind of voyage/quest to ancient human planets/ruins instead of forerunner ones.

Next gen will probably up the scale considerably, perhaps even like Battlefield and dare I say it, dedicated servers for big team battle or whatever they call it. Need to introduce new vehicles. I think if they manage that as well as 4vs4 maps it would be quite the package.

I just can't see then going for more of the same. Skydiving as a Spartan into a vast Battlefield would be neat while tanks and warthogs are rolling. Maybe I should just play Battlefield but can't help thinking a BF Halo gametype would be amazing.

BTB is awesome. Played a great game yesterday with 8 vs 8.

See 16 spartans squaring up on foot with each other was awesome.

Does anyone know how to download the map pack if you got the limited edition? I've tried via the marketplace, in-game and via waypoint but can't see anything.

I'm a but concerned because since activating the code i've changed xbox and I don't know if it transferred across.

After watching the trailer for the new map pack it has left me feeling that Halo 4 is all about the big maps.
I really do enjoy the games but the release maps are just a bit poor and I was really hoping this new map pack would add something good for 4v4.

I have only seen the maps in a quick video but I see nothing different from the maps that are already avalible.

I'm using it. I have noticed that I survive more grenades up close and have been getting a lot more grenade kills more recently. I've had a few Hail Mary's (love it when that happens), but no sticks as I don't really use stickys.
