    I thought Eclipse 2.0 was to have a solo mode, seems a bit quiet on that front on the forums.

    Didn't hear anything about a solo mode. Would be amazing tho.

    All mat no game indeed. ☹️. Funny thing was I thought it was my gaming table being delivered. I was a tad excited. Instead I got a mat for a game I don't own yet

    Good news that Nintendo refunded.

    One more day before pre order starts for Tapestry.

    Thanks and oh bugger. That's so many games in a month! All my good behaviour this year has been countered in a few weeks

    My local game store has decided to do a buy two get one free on the entire store for their tenth anniversary. That coupled with discovering an extremely well stocked but very well hidden specialist store has destroyed me. Shadowrun Crossfire, Mansions of Madness, Firefly Brigands and Browncoats, Dead of Winter, Comanauts, New California expansion for Fallout, and almost all of the Zombies!!!! expansions. And have Uboot on the way, as well as a preorder for Dune thatíll ship imminently. Also had to order another bookcase to store the damn things.

    @Your-Mother And where is this magical kingdom where I can also spend silly amounts of money?

    Deepest darkest Idaho. We have potatoes and board games.

    Do they ship internationally?

    The potatoes, not the games.

    I'd be more concerned with the storage! Board games are so bloody big.

    My year was going pretty decent as well but last month spend too much on games, mainly kickstarters.

    For storage I use boxthrone. Modular system and you can store the games horizontal. But now I really need to stop spending because it's more than full.

    I'm almost glad that I'm in a place where board games are not at all a thing, I'd be spending ever so much money otherwise. The closest I got was playing Deception: Murder in Hong Kong with a group of other expats.

    Deception is great btw, in case anyone didn't know already. It's absolutely perfect for parties. You can explain the rules in a few minutes and the more players the better (up to 12 I think).

    @Mola_Ram

    I've got board games absolutely everywhere. For starters my eldest boy loves them as much as me so I have a gaming pal living in the house. Then there's London on Board every day of the week and finally after being in the hobby a few years I have a few groups I can organise games with.

    I would love to have a weekly game session with some adults locally though. That would be ideal. In mine or someone else's flat rather than pubs / office etc.

    We have a monthly mates games night, where 4 or 5 of us gather round a house and eat, drink and game. Then my work do a monthly night at the office, which gets 15-20 odd going along.

    Works out quite nicely.

    @Gregolution Have you tried looking for a local group on BGG? That's how I found mine.

    This is what's stopping me from buying it. Have you tried it with four?

    I have another games night (first for the season) planned for friday the 13th. Hopefully we'll manage two rounds of Scythe Rise of Fenris.

    I would love to have that done with so that I can start on ROOT. Efter that maybe Cuba Libre or Pax Pamir. Oh fuck, there's Escape Plan as well. And On Mars will show up before the end of year.

    Plus, I might buy Battle for Rokugan just because I really want my group to get into war games and I've heard that's a good game to get rid of any "I don't want to be mean" feelings.

    That's exactly what I want. But all my mates just call me a nerd loser! None of them are into board games unfortunately. One is a very heavy video gamer and just can't seem to understand that games are games and he'd probably have a lot of fun if he tried.

    Need new mates obvs.

    Yep. There's also a rather widespread misunderstanding about boardgames. Most people I mention my hobby to get a "How the fuck can you still be playing Monopoly" look on their faces. And I get it. I'd also hate to meet a bunch of friends and sit down to play Clue, Trivial Pursuit or Monopoly. And if you haven't spent some time looking into boardgaming that is what people think boardgaming is.

    Sadly yes. But personally a good immersive board game I find more entertaining than a good video game.

    A guy in my group bought it. I'm really looking forward to playing it. Rahdo was positively gushing. Never seen that before ;)

    @Tonka

    😂😂. He definitely gushes over every game he reviews but he doesn't usually say it might go into his top 10 games of all time. That's the only way I can guage it from everything else.

    I'll see. I've been playing a lot of civ 6 (only video game I've played all year other than slay the spire) so I think I'll enjoy it more due to that.

    @Gregolution What makes it easier to gauge Rahdoís feelings on a game is to check ranked.radho.com, as he seems pretty consistent at rating most of the games he plays on bgg (itís a bgg link).

    Although I'm not totally sold on it I'm lucky enough to be playing it tomorrow at a friend's house. She got a review copy, should be at least 3 if us.

    Will report back tomorrow!
