Yeah the physical side of board gaming is important. Personally I find a bag of tokens more suspenseful than dice, but also better for balancing a game. You can modify your chances a lot and the bag contents can change where a dice face can't - it's a very flexible system. And rummaging around in that bag waiting to pull a token out for a very important action is incredibly exciting!

@Gregolution yeah, I get all that. Clicking a token is not the same.

@M0nkeyF1sh if we were to consider numbers, what might we be talking? What makes you fear it may not be complete?

Right I've got my plastic storage boxes arriving today for Gloomhaven - an afternoon of punching out & organising cardboard beckons :D

I've watched a couple of videos and I've nearly finished the rule book (twice). I've printed a couple of reference guides out and I've done my best to convince the other half to join the quest. Given the lack of a real life gaming group I might need to give it a go piloting two characters. Wish me luck! Coincidentally I've also got a long weekend booked :-)

Best of luck. From what I've heard, the companion app is a life saver.

But maybe not everyone is as shit at manipulating an armada if cardboard chits as I.

    /wave

We've not used a companion app. I did buy a little box of tiny red dice to do damage though - that was a big improvement over the damage tokens.

@ChiefGB I have no idea how much it's worth. The whole set new is quite an investment (I almost don't want to know!), of course second hand would be cheaper BUT a lot of it is out of print, so someone might pay a fair wedge for it. Best bet I think would be to get it all sorted and shove it on ebay. See what I can get.

I don't think it's incomplete, its just that all the items & character cards are all mixed together. Would probably be a good idea to sort it all out before selling it.

@M0nkeyF1sh fair, it would probably be beyond my initial outlay anyway, bargain or no. Good luck if you get around to it, sorting through it might actually be something a purchaser might relish.

Yeah, even without including postage costs i'm not sure. I only want the main game and prelude which would leave a lot of space in that big box.

Really wish they included the new player boards as standard too, bloody cheeky I think.

I've gone full geek and joined a P500. It's for a COIN game called China's War. I joined because I'm interested in the history. Will solo it to see if I can get a feel for why the Japanese managed to do so much damage to a much larger country.

Iím gearing up for an all in move, which is a bit insane.

Also resi3 pledge manager has opened and those add ons are looking like fair value.

    Decisions,decisions.

I was a little surprised by the £15 delivery charge for Resi 3 but I guess you do get a lot of stuff.

    Doc Ock and Wolverine.

Doc Ock is insanely hard, or I'm playing it wrong.

@StarchildHypocrethes holy hell. That hardcore history podcast is aptly named. Very interesting stuff and well made.

Now I'm even more eager to play the game, but that's not until someone next year... at the earliest.
