    Not the same as the games you chaps play, but I've got right back into Scrabble. Started after my son wanted to play and it's now a regular Sunday thing. There's a reason games like this endure...

    @Dougs Check out Paperback and Hardback if you want some more word games.

    They're both deckbuilders and I'd buy them in the blink of an eye if I could get them in Swedish.

    After months of incredibly exciting "Will I..? Won't I..?" drama in my head, I've finally just grabbed a copy of Terraforming Mars from my local shop.

    SCIENCE!
    Let us know what you think of it. I think it's a fantastic solo game, maybe better than it is MP.
    Had a 3 player game and then gave the solo a go last night. Really like it.

    It's not ever going to be an "exciting" game, but it nails it's theme really well and everything just fits together and works so smoothly. Cracking bit of design.

    Played a game of this with some mates down the pub the other week.

    It was the most pathetic game of Scrabble the world has ever seen. Not sure we got above 5 letters at any point... :/

    Scrabble is actually a really good classic board game. Unlike the other ones that get mentioned whenever I bring up the hobby...

    I can't play it though. My wife beats me every time... and English isn't her first language :(

    I've got some more Dragon Shield sleeves coming tomorrow alongside a couple of the stack n safe boxes...

    https://ultimateguard.com/en/stack-n-safe/stack-n-safe-card-box-480

    Time to get LOTR organised I think. I could potentially bin the boxes once they're organised as the Saga boxes are just an empty shell. Feel a bit bad, but I kinda want the space back.
    Beauty! I need these. Seriously need to get my ducks in a row with LOTR.
    Well the Stack has enough room for two Saga boxes worth of sleeved cards (330 or thereabouts). I am starting to wonder why I’m bloody sleeving everything •grumbles•

    @Nemesis

    I think I've decided to sleeve only player cards in LOTR and leave the rest butt naked :D

    Sleeving is a bit of a disease imo... often not needed but board gamers love to sleeve.

    Finally played Concordia (5 player).
    Man, once you've gone through the first couple rounds it really clicks into a fantastic smooth game. Scoring is a bit fiddly and I came dead last but still loved it! Ordered along with Salsa expansion (along with Evolution Climate) to arrive by the weekend.

    Concordia has never given me a buzz. Might be because I sleeved the cards. Hate the feeling of sleeved cards.

    Seen a lot of people rave about Concordia though so I guess I'm just doing it wrong. Or I had too high expectations.

    Poor form! I lost my last game after my wife tiled out and scooped the additional 10 points that was left over after my mother in law couldn't play her Q. Very irritating

    I've taken the wraps off of Cuba Libre and I'm reading through the rules and playbook.

    That in and of itself is worth the price for the game. Very satisfying.

    Good weekend of board gaming.

    Azul
    Dragonfire
    City of Kings Story 5 (have hit 20 plays now!)
    Dungeon Alliance.
    Terraforming Mars.

    Unfortunately I lost all the competitive games!

    Going to try and get City of Kings on the table this week for a solo play-through, watched a few video plays now and feel like I'm definitely going to enjoy it

    @DevilsKebab

    It's so good! It's rocketed to 20 plays since I received it. Fastest time I've got to 20 plays with anything.

    Creates really fun puzzles to solve, and I think should get significantly better with the expansion heroes (if he designs them well)

    @Gregolution I backed the KS expansions

    Lessons learned through years of board gaming, buy the expansions as they come out as sometimes they'll just fade out of existence and you'll have to pay a pretty penny to get them.
    I sit there looking at Battlestar Galactica with the realisation that I'll probably only own the base set as I'll not shell out £100+ for it's extra content

    Good man. The new heroes look like a step up in difficulty. Should be fun.

    Hmmm... now I feel like setting up a quick scenario while wfh..........

    I can never find packs 1, 3 or 6 for Dwarrowdelf LOTR :(

    Constantly check the web and the other 3 come into stock but not those 3. Seems odd.

    I feel your pain there, for me it was Mirkwood Cycle I had trouble tracking down packs for.
    And I think the packs you're after were re-printed about 9-10 months ago.
    But keep the faith, they'll come back again soon enough, don't go crazy and spend over £20-25 for them, as I often saw pack on eBay hitting £45 and up

    @DevilsKebab

    I've got all of Mirkwood Cycle, 2 cores, 2 hobbit sagas, Khazad D and 3 packs of dwarrowdelf. Just ordered the next 2 sagas (black riders and road darkens).

    Once I get those 3 packs I'll stop and try to play the hell out of what I have. Seems like a good starting point.

    Managed to get a used core and Mirkwood cycle for 40 quid! Great condition. And when it turned up it had 'The Massing at Osgliath' in it which he didn't even mention to me.

    Knocked the dust off of Tiny Epic Galaxies this weekend; what a fun little game it is.

    Also, after my huffing and puffing over sleeves I went and purchased another 3 boxes so my M:TG decks have different identifying colours.

    I might have a problem.

    The sky blue Dragon Shields look bloody lovely!

    I hope you've got all night! It's not a fast game lol.
    Really? I heard it was only about 2 - 2.5 hours with a fully 4?

    Yup, you're probably going to have to double that!
