A nice doco about the famous musician/composer. Worth a look if you're interested in the creativity and joy that goes into making music. His enthusiasm is absolutely infectious.

Registered 18 years agoI always felt Sakamoto's genius was interpretive and filled with infinite possibilities, like it's trying to make more than a musical point.
However I found his later work to be the very definition of musical declension.
Can I ask, are you familiar with the Film A Ghost Story? -

Registered 9 years agoWith further apologies for interrupting the "regurgitate a shit joke you heard" thread, here is another movie wot I saw. Maybe nobody cares, but maybe someone will! And writing about them helps me remember them.
So...
The Great Buddha+
A Taiwanese black comedy about a couple of nobodies who decide to start watching the dashboard camera of their boss's Mercedes. There's loads of smart breaking the fourth wall moments, and in general it's just a really interesting portrait of class divisions in Taiwanese society.

Imagine if Nicholas Cages's acting career hadn't taken off but he was still in love with the art so he took any job he could just to be involved with the industry in some way so he started out just cleaning the toilets in a theater but gradually worked his way up to help with the lights and the props and stuff. You could call him Nicholas Backstage.
