I was dreading the first film and am now genuinely excited to see the second as the first was brilliant.

The second one also has the advantage of not having Tony Bellew tramping up the place.

    La La Land

Loved the stylised approach to everything, that the songs weren't perfect and the acting a little awkward.

It felt maybe a tiny bit too long but I'm not sure I'd change a thing about it.

    8.5

    Prisoners

Hugh Jackman takes matters into his own hands when his and his neighbours kid goes missing, presumed kidnapped. He kidnaps Paul Dani's suspect, a mentally challenged individual. Jake Gyllenhall is the cop looking for both.

It's almost really good. Performances are strong and the suspense and tension is palpable. But the character actions felt a little forced on a few occasions, and it felt a bit silly as the backstory emerges.

    7/10

Runaway Jury (on Amazon Prime) - 8/10

An entertaining courtroom thriller, with Hackman knocking it out of the park again.

    Deadpool 2

This has to be the worst film I've seen this year. Everything was shit, and way too many unfunny meta jokes.

I would say this was made for 10 year olds with ADHD but with all the forced foul language and (CGI) violence I'm not really sure.

I have no idea how this gets such high ratings online.

    -10/10

I did and I quite liked it, which made this an even bigger disappointment.

Been on my list for a while, really need to get round to it.

As. For DP2, I'm pretty easily pleased when it comes to some meta action, but to me it was the same again. Albeit not as original or funny but if you liked the first, I'm surprised that you didn't like the 2nd.

    Sicario 2

The endings a bit messy and clearly set up for a sequel. Most of the disappointment was just that it ended though. For 90% of the film it was cracking.

I admit I already have a hard time enjoying your average Marvel movie, but yeah DP2 was everything I loathe about modern blockbusters. But while I frequently laughed during the first, I barely chuckled more than twice during 2.

Missus hated it too and she's more of a superhero fan.

Deadpool and DP2 are basically two halves of one movie, what's going on? Do a few people get a personality transplant at some point between watching them? It's a very strange phenomenon

I watched Downsizing recently. I can see why it reviewed so bad. It looks like a fun romp on the trailer and whilst it's not a fun movie at all I still enjoyed it 6.5 out of 10

Kinda reminded me of when the Truman Show came out and a lot of people said it was rubbish, "not funny at all" because they expected it to be a wacky comedy

Some Willow Street horror exorcism thing on NowTV. It's pretty generic, I wouldn't bother - 4/10

Also redeemed a Google Play voucher and watched Solo. Quite enjoyed it, thought the lead did a good job, a few chuckles and nods - 7/10

    Mission Impossible 3 on Prime

Meh. The bad guy is excellent, however, probably the best I've ever seen.

Like a live action Tower Defense game, but with longer gaps in-between waves, and seriously screwed up "hero" characters!

Oh, and a Rapey, sea-creature mini game!

    The Triplets of Belleville

Well, that was pretty good! Can't believe it's taken me this long to watch it, but I'm glad that I eventually did.

I dunno, it's just one of those things that people have told me was great, and then I wanted to watch it and then I did and realised that it was 15 years later.

Anyway, it's great. You should watch it too.

The Triplets of Belleville is Chris Stuckmann's favourite film in the BCU (Belleville Cinematic Universe).

    @Mola_Ram

Whoa. I had genuinely never heard of the "Triplets of Belville". From the trailer, it looks great.

Where did you find it? Doesn't seem to be on Netflix or Amazon UK?

Ok then. I mean, I don't actually think that I was being a prick to anyone, but I guess you don't need much of an excuse.

Do let me know in the unlikely event that you actually like something, so I can return the favour.
