You may not all be talking about the same Escape Room. I think there are at least three recentish films with that title. I've not seen any but one is meant to be okayish, the other two terrible.

    Going back a page.

The fight scenes in Logan are fairly brutal. The whole film revolves around his declining health so is pretty removed from the standard invincible superhero CGI battle.

I think it's a great film and far better than the majority of Xmen films.

They are 12 movies deep now and there are probably only 3 genuinely good ones in there, Logan being one of them.

Yeah I agree with that. It's one of the few superhero films where I don't borderline zone out on the fights.

@Iwasexclusive Haha. Escape room is terrible! A bunch of awful characters, only half a plot and unimaginative torture porn deaths. Only redeeming features are the nice pair of tits at the end.
Ok, may be 7/10 is generous. Definitely a 6/10.

I don't remember any tits though and I would remember a nice pair. I watched this.

Only thing I didn’t like about Logan was the bigger group of kids at the end. All got a bit Mad Max Beyond Thunderdomey

Incidentally the girl from Logan is Lyra in the new series of His Dark Materials which is encouraging casting.

    X Men Dark Phoenix - 4/10

Poor to middling supehero fare. Totally confused in relation to the overall X Men timeline and very predictable ending

Watched Days of Future Past recently and that went right down in my estimation with the 'classic' cast on screen. Perhaps it was the Bryan Singer direction too.

    Upgrade 10/10

The best non Terminator, Terminator film I’ve seen. If only they had the balls to name stem, Skynet. There’s your perfect self aware origin story right there.
    Brilliant.

    The Perfection - 4/10

Really weird straight-to-Netflix horror movie. Some decent ideas in there somewhere but it takes ages to get going and the directing and script are so perfunctory.

Looked at the trailer earlier and liked the look of it but it's no surprise to hear it's a bit shit. One of the ladies plays the GF in get out doesn't she?

Yeah - Allison Williams. She's alright in it to be fair.

It's not the worst film ever but there are plenty of better films. One for horror fans running out of other options I'd say.

    Anthropoid (2016) - 8/10
True story of Czech commandos sent to kill a high ranking SS officer in WWII.
Irish dreamboats Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan are pretty good despite the comedy accents (a bugbear of mine) and the assassination and church finale scenes are really well done.
It's a hard watch at times but gets the point across and the one thing that really pissed me off was at the end when the remaining Czechs kill themselves in the church, the screen goes black and it gives you the political significance of the mission that these people gave their lives for. As I was watching it on Film4, they split the fucking screen and happily announced of a comedy film that was coming up soon. Cunts

    Brightburn 5.5/10

Some pretty gory scenes and nice idea but just underwhelms/feels flat ultimately

Toy Story 4. 9/10. Utterly brilliant. I was slightly worried, as I love TS3, it's almost the perfect film. But need not have worried, they absolutely nail it. It's funny, heartwarming and a little sad too. If I was being critical, the story is not exactly original but fuck it.

Upgrade 6.5/10. I quite liked this, and it was better than I was expecting but I still felt there was something missing from making it a great. Can't quite put my finger on it. Perhaps the performances were a little flat.

    Toy story 4 10/10

How often can we get to a 4th film in a franchise and honestly say every one is brilliant? . Thorough enjoyed this and had the little ones in tears. New characters are funny and the end of an era for some. Trash?

    Villainess.

Sadly a bit of a mess. Opens up with a promising fight scene, and characters that you actually start to care for, but i found it really hard to follow, the time shifts in particular meant at times i didn't know whether i was following the present or past, and it just never really recovers or pulls together. Had the basis for a solid film, but it never quite gets there.

    2/5

    Quake (2018)

Sequel to The Wave, follows a family as they are hit by an earthquake in Norway. Some good scenes. Terrible acting from Kathleen Turner doppelgänger though.

    6/10

    Triple Threat - 6/10

A decent cast of people who know their martial arts get together for what I think is basically a showcase of their remarkable talents.

It's a basic plot but I kind of like the homages/all out rip-offs they do. The start is very reminiscent of Predator and there are lots of other one dotted in there.

Despite the shitness of most (all?) of his films, I've come to like Scott Adkins a lot. He's a proper mean bastard in this one and just chews up everything in front of him. If he's not kicking, punching, shooting or roundhouse kicking the living shit out of it!

Overall, I enjoyed this film but it's not quite as good as the mighty cast suggests it could be.

    Destination Wedding - 9/10

One of the very few romcoms I've seen that made me laugh most of the way through it. I had a good few big, loud belly laughs too. For me, it's down to the two leads Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder and the chemistry I think they have together. I also loved the razor-sharp, anti rom-com script which has them constantly insulting each other. But I think the film has a warmth and heart to it too.

The film just focuses on the two characters. Reeves plays a miserable, selfish bastard who just doesn't give anymore fucks anymore and Ryder gives good as she gets. Both characters are incredibly sarcastic and I think their constant bickering is brilliant. Some really cruel, nasty one-liners but as I mentioned before the film show a growing romance develop between the two characters and they do soften up, too each other at least.

This is the biggest, unexpected surprise film of this year so far. I really didn't think I'd enjoy it anywhere near as much as I did. It's defintley a film I'll enjoy watching multiple times over. Reeves and Ryder seemed to have as much of a good time making this as I did watching it.

    A Vigilante - 3.5/10

Boy, this film is proper grim. I kind of expected it would be due to its subject matter which tackles domestic abuse but I found it to be incredibly boring as the film progressed.

I can't fault the acting at all. Olivia Wilde really gives it her all in this and isn't afraid of showing how bad things can get. There's absolutely no Hollywood razzmatazz here. I think it's a brutal, honest look on the situation (as far as I can tell).

Her character ends up going out after domestic abusers and giving them a taste of their own medicine and freeing people who are caught in this situation with no way out.

The acting is brilliant from everyone involved. It's brutal (savage at times) and certainly doesn't hold back. But after a short time the film really starts to drag. There's only so many group therapy sessions that I could watch. Even when things start to kick up as her past catches up with her, I was bored. I fell asleep about three times and my attention did wander.
