Batman: Year One (which was Aronofsky's aborted project) would totally work in that style.

Also, they made a load of period pulpy superhero flicks in the 90s (Rocketeer, The Shadow, The Phantom, Dick Tracy) and 50% of them are great, 25% goodish and 25% wank.

A proper 40s Batman made by Orson Welles and starring Raymond Massey would've been sexy.

I've just read that Gary Glitter has a song on the soundtrack of Joker, which is all kinds of make my brain hurt. Surely someone twigged.

Thatíd be interesting. Enjoyed White Night recently which is set in modern Gotham but everything has a bit of 70ís design to it. Going back to the 40s would be pretty cool.

If they did a Neal Adams-style 70s Batman with Silver St Cloud and trippy Hugo Strange stuff I'd totally be alright with that.

Yeah I'm not saying it's right, just that it's easier to understand it slipping through than if it was I'm The Leader or something.

I was quite surprised to see his stuff on Spotify to be honest. Although if they take off all the stuff made by sexual deviants there's going to be about 4 albums left.

    I watched Avengers Endgame.

Had no idea who half the people were but it was entertaining. Bloody long though.

Some epic battles but was primarily about people nodding silently and meaningfully at one another.

Equally you don't have to point out every criticism it receives.

I do think it'll encourage someone to shoot up the place at some point though if that makes you feel better.

It's not really a criticism of the movie to say Gary Glitter is a sex tourist. God, youre such a batman fangirl.

Come on you know you've been doing it. We've been having a little subtle war for days now.

And I'm really not a Batman fangirl, I think the Dark Knight is the the last thing I've actually liked that he's been in. I don't even particularly like the games.

I'm not, honestly! Not consciously at least.

I'm booked to meerkat movie it tomorrow, so I will be able to bash it with a clear conscience. Jokes, red letter media have told me what to think about it already and they thought it was ok.

There's a Gary Glitter song in Jaws if that makes everyone feel better.

Its a weird one in all honesty. Pheonix is phenomenonal but there's a few odd turns in the script. And yeah, I do think the wrong kind of mind could really take it as an encouragement to shoot someone.

Overall though his performance and the character itself just make it utterly engrossing.

It's a very different film to be honest.

Unrelated but did you watch The Night Comes for Us on Netflix yet? I'm watching the end of it now, it's crazy.
