I watched up to the Zion rave in Reloaded last night. Rubber Neo when he’s “doing his Superman thing”. Actually quite looking forward to the highway chase. I don’t think I’ve seen it since the DVD release of the film.

Thats the only lingering thread, for me. What was Mr. Anderson dealing from his apartment? What was on the mini-disc that led to those cyberkids to treat it like it was a bag of speed?

I realise its utterly inconsequential, but its bugged me for two decades.

The soundtrack is wonderful. Along with the Spawn soundtrack, it's a mystery why anybody even bothered making albums since.

I always assumed it was a hacking program to delete criminal records or something along those lines.

You're not meant to know though, it's a story trope that even has a specific name I can't recall at the moment. Same thing as with the contents of Marcellus Wallace's briefcase in Pulp Fiction, for example.

Haha, I like this. Hadn't thought about it, but bugging me now too.

Also the soundtrack has some great tracks on it, altho I get your point - it definitely feels a bit dated. Massive Attack is used well. Reloaded has a worse soundtrack - just generic trance type fare. It's very noticeable when it kicks in and quite distracting.

Dunno about that, if you want to frame it as them nailing that insane anime aspect of the source material, then yes it hit its objective, but as a good film, then no.

At least you can wear the shades too on a day like this. Unlike when you do it in December.

    You crank.

The software on the minidisc is a hacking program to erase parking tickets, fact fans. It’s meant to show that Thomas Anderson/Neo is already comfortable with using software to break the rules, which is the point of being The One.

It's a great film, a dynamic, absolutely bonkers masterpiece of visual design. Sure it was an utter failure that basically guaranteed studios would never give the Wachowskis money ever again, but fuck me what a ride it was.

Hell, even when they end up making genuinely shit movies I still respect them, because they're usually interesting failures.

I really like all the Juno Reactor stuff on the soundtrack, is that whack and naff and dated now? It's aged better than Mazza Manson and Rob Zombie.

I don't think she's aged in the last 20 years.
    The proverbial fine wine

Ever since The Rocketeer she’s held a special pull over my loins.

I really like the matrix sequels. Not a patch on the original, trilogy fever took over but they both fun.

    Animatic is brilliant

    The Irishman

Was it amazing ? Yes. Was it too long ? Nope. Is it the best movie ever ? No. Is it worth watching ? Definitely.

    Ergo:

    Lockout

Amusing in places, with some reasonable action and a blatant rip off of Escape from New York. There's some awful CG, especially the early chase sequence. Guy Pearce carries it for the most part, but an ok watch.

    6/10

I reckon Juno Reactor has aged well tbh. I still listen to the albums I have of theirs quite regularly.

    2036 Origin Unknown

Despite Katie Sackoff's presence this isn't a bad 2001 knockoff. It's quite predictable, but does throw the occasional surprise in.
