    Downton Abbey

Possibly the whitest film I've ever seen.

I mean, I get it's a period drama and supposed to reflect the times - but it stands out.

As a film, I'm not sure there's a plot as such. There's something about the royal family visiting, lots of jostling about and then it ends.

    3/10

The Personal History of David Copperfield is the antidote to that.

    Snowpiercer 7/10

It's The Raid meets The Matrix, on a train.

I like Stuart Wilson in 3 (he didn't get much of a go of it in Hollywood - a few shite bad guy roles and Nameless General Standing in the Pentagon), and, God Help Me I'm Fucking Middle-Aged, I love Sting's song over the opening credits.

The rest is mince. I can't really sit through 3 or 4 because they're so irritatingly, irritatingly bad.

It also has a really odd anti-gun violence message for a film where the heroes shoot everything that moves.

If it wasn't for those "cop killer" bullets, he'd never have killed that last bad guy on the bulldozer.

    Freaks 6/10

Was OK, I liked Emile Hirsch, rest of them not so much.

Ending is a bit cack. Certainly not a bad film, just not very good either.

We had cars called Smokey and The Bandit just to pre-piss on your chips, but because my dad is a very literal person Bandit just ended up being called Black Cat

    Skyscraper

I figured that The Rock and a burning skyscraper would at least provide mindless fun, and it does to an extent. It's far from his best, but just about watchable.

    Star Trek: Insurrection

A pretty lacklustre film, basically. If this had appeared in a season of Trek, maybe as a two parter, it would have been fine. Not great, not memorable, but fine.

As a cinematic experience it's a bit dull.

    5/10

    Star Trek: Nemesis

I remember hating this but it wasn't quite as bad as I remember. I think my previous, and possibly only, previous watch was tainted because I found the early dune buggy sequence stupid.

The dune buggy is still stupid, but as I was expecting it it didn't linger. Still some moments I dislike - some of the corridor fire fights towards the end are a bit naff, and Troi's little telepathic moment where they illuminate her eyes is just cheesy.

All in all it came across better than expected.

    6/10

    Redwood
A horror film on Amazon about a couple lost in the woods. It's not worth saying much more as it's fucking terrible.

1\10. It gets a one as it's got Xander from Buffy in it and he looks about 65. Which made me laugh.
