    Line of Duty

Utterly predictable, with some so-so action and an annoying girl. The generational conflict and live streaming added a modicum of interest, but wasn't really followed through with any substance. It did do enough to keep me watching, but maybe that's partly down to not feeling well and couldn't be bothered to lift the remote.

Dr Sleep - Im a bit of a fan of King, so I have read the book of this and the shining which, honestly, is slightly to its its detriment. Its a sequel, as it had to be, to the movie version so it has to change a ton of stuff which isnt always for the better but it also kind of apologises for the original changes by stuffing in things from the first book, so the ending is kind of bloated and wouldnt mean a lot to someone who just watched the film.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall that said, its really good. Its by the guy who did haunting of hill house and maintains a similar mood and tone and the section set in the overlook is amazingly faithful to the original movie. Its also to its credit that it doesnt go for terrible de-aged CGI for Duvall and Nicholson.

So, yeah, good movie, weird adaptation.

The Dr Sleep director also made a really good horror film called Oculus a few years ago that not many people saw.

    Eurovision Song Contest.
Planned to watch this with the other half (who wasnít feeling well and went to bed)

It was a fun, light film. Ferrell reigned it in a little, although it still has a couple of quirky moments. So if he can be a bit too much know that heís not all that off the wall here.

Itís not the most ďlolĒ of films youíll see although I did a couple of times, itís more of a warm almost family friendly type of film. This is likely to improve crossover with ev fans.
However what the film does have is a lot of energy, clearly everyone involved was having a ball and it really shows. Some great musical numbers actually, itís a musical almost as much as anything else and it has that kind of feel to it, which again keeps the tempo high.

It is however a film that could easily have been a bit shorter I think, and the story isnít original at all.
But throwing in the above itís a film worth taking a look at if you in the mood for a bit of breezy musical entertainment or maybe one to put on if you feel itís something for ďdate nightĒ.

PA7 is the only time I have ever walked out of the cinema during a film.

    Triple Threat

Considering the martial arts talent in this film, it should have been way more fun than it was. The gunplay is poor, the plot loses its way, but the fights were pretty good.

As an aside it's interesting to see the rise of Chinese propaganda in films - it makes a change from the US centric flag waving though.

    Sorry to bother you

Enjoyed this one quite a bit. Gets extra points as well for having a second half where I don't think I couldve guessed the direction it was going to go in a million years.

    Will Ferrell Eurovision thing.

    6.5/10

It's alright to be fair, a bit long and not all that funny. But kind of endearing as a tribute to Eurovision.

Rachel McAdams, apart from Wedding Crashers, always seems to be in rom coms, but she's really funny in this, steals the show a fair bit from Ferrell, which is usually not easy as he's such a big comedic persona.

A lot of the songs and performances are funny and of the sort you would see in the actual show.

Worth a look if you fancy something easy and daft to watch.

I really need to watch the 2nd half. One of those where my attention started to drift so thought it best to stop and revisit at a later date.

    Rock n Rolla

Not as good as his best, there's good people in it and they do a reasonable job, but it's not as a gripping a yarn as his his best films. It's far from terrible though, and is mildly entertaining.

In the Shadow of the Moon

It's quite obvious what is going on, and the pacing is uneven, but there was just enough there for me to want to see the conclusion.
