Slightly. Both the lead and the girl on webcam (forget their names) have stated the obvious that it wouldn't get made today and they think it's right that there are conversations around it.

Similar to when Molly Ringwald said she wouldn't let her daughter watch Breakfast Club

    Street Fighter

It's terrible. Characters bear no relation to the source characters. For a film based on a franchise that's about two people beating the shit out of each there's very little in the way of 1 vs 1 shit beating. The plot is threadbare.

But Raul Julia as Bison is amazing. There are other moments of comedy which are sometimes intentionally funny, other times unintentionally funny. If this was supposed to be one of those ironic B-movies it'd be pretty great.

    all in all, 7/10.

I think Julia only did it because his kids were into the SNES game and he wanted to make them happy. What a legend. RIP (especially on Tuesday).

I believe Guile in the movie is based on bullshit artist extraordinaire, Frank Dux.

Falling Down but D-fens is a predator.

Or fir reals, have act 2 take place in the desert as the goodies spend a few days trying to cross it, slowly realizing they are being hunted and thereís absolutely nowhere to hide.

Act 3 takes place on Ramsey Street abs a dingo eats the predators baby.

I read that the director thought it would be naff to go a tournament Enter the Dragon type movie so deliberately cut back on that sort of stuff as much as possible.

Basically the opposite of what they tried to do with Mortal Kombat.

    Bugís Life

Underrated in the Pixar canon due to lack of sad bits but itís a fun romp of a film. Lots of action, some funny jokes, unfortunately Spacey and lots of stereotypes too.

    8/10

    Finding Nemo

I always kind of forget how little happens in this film. Slightly overrated in the Pixar canon due to its emotional core. No nonces though which is a bonus although Ellen is meant to be a horrible boss.

    7/10

Any film but have the Predator be the main character, except at the end the Predator breaks the fourth wall, winks at the camera and gargles "Didn't I?"

    In fact:

    Smokey and the Predator

Those boys in Texarkana, they got a powerful thirst on and you know who's the only big-rig driver crazy enough to run through the bear trap lining the interstate? Why, it's only The Predator.

A horrific Brundlefly hybrid of Ernest Borgnine/Jackie Gleason chases after The Predator, who has a sexy lady friend who is really not all that sexy and more like someone's mum. Later on he bites her face off and toots his horn.
TOOT TOOT. Some other sexy ladies in a Lamborghini turn up - one of them is a bit rough in the face but you still would.

Borgninefly tries to stop The Predator right at the end by standing in the highway in front of his truck, smirking, but The Predator just explodes him by driving straight through his fat ass, firing a few shots from his plasma cannon into the dismal remains for good measure, all the while wearing Sally Fields' face and honking his horn.

    TOOT TOOT TOOT!

    50 Shades of Predator.

    Writes itself really.

The Mandibles. Basically an expendables rip off. Predator plays everyone.

Had insomnia last night so watched a couple:

    Desperado

I love early Rodriguez / Banderras stuff. This held up pretty well, I don't remember it being so comical though, especially the action scenes where Banderas literally will stand with an eyebrow raised and reloading while people shoot at him. The film does remind me why Selma Hayek is my all time celebrity crush. Time to track down El Mariachi

    9/10

    Mallrats

Silly nostalgic fun. A few times I genuinely laughed out loud, but also quite dated. As per a previous review recently (can't remember who by) it is just wall to wall future huge actors.

    7/10

I watched Desperado last week as well. Banderas is really likeable in it. And Hayek is stunning.

Proper over the top action in it too.

    I'd give it a strong 8.

    Oh, and The Old Guard

Very mixed reviews here but I loved it. But then Charlize Theron kicking ass is always great (Fury Road, Aon Flux, Atomic Blonde.) I was especially impressed by the action. The villain was a bit shit, but I loved the characters, the backstory and the world. I would love to see a sequel.

    8/10

I watched the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot movie the other week. Thought it was pretty rubbish, no laughs whatsoever, 4 out of 10

This week I watched something called Good Boys, which is basically Superbad with the main characters replaced by 12 year olds. Not as crap as it sounds and actually funny, 7 out of 10

The Old Guard was the definition of You've Seen This Action Scene Before, It All Looks Like Something Shot for E4, Dialogue's Fairly Wank, It's Alright I Suppose.

Nicely put. I finished it completely underwhelmed. It felt exactly like a feature length higher budget episode for a series like Agents of SHIELD or something. So very basic. And the baddie was absolutely laughable. I liked that it was a bit more low key than the usual action bobbins, but looking back it feels more like weak direction than a strong artistic choice.

Plus weíve seen immortals before in highlander, so I wasnít THAT blown away by the premise either.

I LOVE Desperado. The whole thing plays out like a big shooty dance. It all zips along at pace - no fat on this at all.

"...that's because we PEEESSE in it."

So very much like the first Jay & SB movie?

Was Chasing Amy the last properly good Kevin Smith film?

While I don't think it's good Zack and Miri Make a Porno at least got a few laughs out of me. Which is more than I can say about 99% of American comedies.

I only recently realised he had a mini-horror run relatively recently, so watched red state, tusk and yoga hosers in fairly quick succession.

Yoga Hosers is absolute shite but the other two alright. Tusk is pretty funny and Red State is a bit of a Frank Miller style Ďtake that! And that! And that! And one of these!í hits but itís ok.

And thatís all I have to say about that.

Itís probably fair to say I grew out of him. I genuinely loved pretty much everything up to Clerks 2 then dropped off completely.

    I was/am his prime Gen X audience, I suppose.

Hmm, yeah I get that sentiment, I like Clerks and Mallrats but I feel that is exclusively dependent on the age that I first watched them which was when I was around 13.
