    Sleepers

It's quite a convoluted plan, but satisfying to watch and Kevin Bacon is a dick. It's quite a cast too.

    8/10

Why didn't they at least give Kong a giant sword or gun or something?

    24 Eyes. 65/100

It's dated and sentimental but I love it.

That made me want to watch it just to experience the madness.

Snyder would have given him a gun

@Baihu1983 That's giving me Sucker Punch flashbacks for some reason. Probably the giant samurai with a minigun scene, about as absurd as the thought of King Kong with a gun really.

    Inside Out

I know a few people who really love this Pixar film but it just doesn't click with me. I find the high concept a bit odd and it just doesn't ring entirely true.

Most Pixar films are based on fairly simple concepts, (toys come alive! Rats can cook!) but Inside Out's concept is pretty abstract and surreal, and I just found myself having more questions. Not least, given that the emotions themselves have emotions and personalities, are they governed by their own little emotional beings in their *heads*?

That said, whilst I think the concept has some holes (that I probably shouldn't worry about) some of the moments are quite touching and it's frequently funny

I think it's because it was a bit different (save for numbskulls in the Beano or whatever) is why I liked it a lot.

I think the question of do the emotions have emotions is answered in the credits isnít it? Iím sure I remember them going inside angrys head and all emotions being angry.

Might have missed the last bit tbh. That just then raises the question if *those* emotions have emotions.

I'm perfectly fine with abstract and high concepts, but I dunno, just felt there was something lacking in the film's internal logic. That doesn't take away from it being funny and occasionally touching and poignant, but it does stop me from really connecting with it.

The concept was treated much more thoughtfully in 'Driving Mr David' in Viz, which is about the mice that live in David Beckhams head.

Doesn't that line of thinking kind of ruin everything you watch? Maybe the mini-emotions are just *there*.

If we don't overthink things we won't ask questions like "why was he refused a loan" and "why does he have a butler?".

Pixar only used just over 20 thousand balloons for the animation sequence in Up. The actual number needed to lift a house is estimated to be around 23.5 million. Absolute bullshit.

Infinity war 10/10. That ending still gets me, so so good and i was so shocked in the cinema that a marvel film ended like that.

End game 8/10 great end I guess. I thought it was more like a 6 on first watch and a huge disappointment after infinity war but the more I watch it the more I enjoy it.

One or the final scenes makes me hopeful we might get guardians of the galaxy 3 with Thor in the team. That would be my perfect marvel film as Thor Ragnarok and gotg are by far my favourite films.

I'm able to suspend disbelief most of the time, but something about the specific concept just irks me.

I'm not one of those mentalists who gets obsessed by the physics of balloons in Up or of the force can stop blaster bolts. I can live with those.

    The Equaliser 2

Ok I guess. Started of brightly, then the last half was kinda meh, in a not good 90's action flick kinda way. Watchable though for Denzel and a couple of nicely put together action sequences.

    2.5/5
It's an ok film. On it's own it might even be good, but it was such a disappointment after the brilliance of the first one.

I am sure the Force can do that, and stop a blaster bolt mid air.

My funny take-away from Episode 9 was that nobody, myself included, wanted to even talk it about after having seen it.

Not even to roast it to talk about how bad it was. Just... avoid it altogether.. as if ignoring it would make it disappear from existence.

I found that only loud American youtube click-bait videos wanted to go into it. And even then that's only really to get clicks, not talk about the film itself.

These days people are more up for talking about episode 1 than episode 9! And that's fine by me.

    My Octopus Teacher

A charming and fascinating view into the life of an octopus. I was less enamoured with the presenter - not that he was bad, I just didn't care about him or his troubles. That being said, it did bring an interesting dimension with his relationship with the creature - I did wonder if he was going to have sex with it at one stage. Of course the octopus was the star and rightfully so.

    When Harry Met Sally

I've been catching up on supposed 80s classics I'd never seen before, mainly to see if they've aged well, and felt like sticking this on. It's a film I'd heard so much about - I'm pretty sure everyone has come across the diner scene at least a dozen times - and I'd always found it curious how Billy Crystal managed to play the leading man in a romcom, especially opposite Meg Ryan.

But yeah, it was pretty good - very Woody Allen-esque, and it's actually quite refreshing how normal most of the main characters look in the film, which somehow makes it feel more authentic and relatable. It's also a short film, and the script is pretty sharp and witty, with no problematic elements that I can think of. Definitely has a bit of a timeless romcom feel to it.

    8/10

I'm not a rom-com fan at all, but even I quite liked it. It's very well done and Billy Crystal is brilliant. City slickers next if not seen!
