Really enjoyed this - understated, whimsical, calming.
Jack Black reins it in well in this true crime story.

Whoever mentioned it in this thread a while ago, thank you. This particular brand of batshit crazy was just what I needed this afternoon. -

Seriously awful. Barely funny if it's supposed to be a comedy and just seems to be 'look at these actors, aren't they funny?' rather than actually having a funny script and direction. A lot of the main cast have been hilarious in other roles so it's not really their fault. The plot is just stupid. Utterly stupid.
And it's by the guys behind Horrible Bosses which only had one funny moment thanks to Jamie Foxx. -

Agree with the above, it also has a good cameo performance by Matthew McConaughey.

Incredible. Track it down if terrible low budget cop movies are your thing. Had a Black Dynamite vibe to it. -

The Arnie one (don't even know if there's another one)? I liked it... But then I'm a sucker for biblical/apocalyptical stuff. -
Django - 7/10 its good and entertaining but there are plot holes and inconsistencies. The changes in the music style of the soundtrack were quite jarring and again, inconsistent and tarrantinos self indulgent cameo with that shitty accent makes him look like a cunt.
You can spot the Mel Brooks influences a mile off and blazing saddles did the whole nigger comedy slapstick thing far better imo.
Oh and I use the word nigger in the context of its use in the film and not as a racial viewpoint before anyone starts accusing me of closed cup mushroomism etc....

There's a pic out there that I would say is real. It's her at the beach or something.
Yeah thats maybe the picture I thought was from Along Came Polly. I think the I spent the entire first month of getting the internet trying to find a picture of her tits. Back when her and Ross were still on a break.
She also shows her butt in The Break-Up. -

Registered 11 years agoI can't remember which of you are to blame but a few of you said that Fast & Furious 5 was worth watching.
I sneered. Well mentally. I didn't actually curl my lip up at the forum or anything. I just haven't watched any of them since the woeful second one.
Anyway I just watched it (cos of you lot) and really enjoyed it.
You cunnies.

I'm not sure why the critics fawned over this; it's historically inaccurate, is badly paced, has too much shaky cam and the special effects are mediocre. I didn't trust Mel Gibson, of all people, to deliver a truthful and sincere account of ancient cultures and civilisations, and my apprehensions proved correct.

Yeah. There was a fine line. There is a decent film in there but it was as though it was toned down which results in the inconsistencies. Acting performances were near faultless and samuel l jackson is brilliant in it though.

Battleship (2012) 3/10
Typical Hollywood paint by numbers effort, with lots of explosions. All in all, really dull stuff.
The intro scene was slightly interesting. There were no Battleships or Aliens, just some dude attempting to chat up some babe (Brooklyn Decker) in a bar. He ends up breaking into a Garage to get her some food and ends up tasered by the police.
There was some good CGI and some not so good CGI. The buildings breaking up looked really good. There’s a really dodgy shark moment. There’s a scene that see’s a highway breaking up, which looked good enough, only to be let down by the falling cars - the lorry looked particularly poor as it fell to the ground.
Rihanna was better than expected. Really didn’t expect much from her. -

Humanising leatherface and turning him in to some kind of anti hero? I get the feeling they missed the point. Even the gore was shit. -

The poorest of the trilogy for me. I still don't like Bale's mouth/chin combo! when wearing the cowl (to qualify Stallon's Dredd mouth/chin combo was spot on) actually I don't much care for the actor at all, although I do seem to like the films he is in.
Thought Bain was underused, although I do not know enough of the Batman lore to know if he is one of Batman's main nemesis or should that be Nemisi.
I though Hathaway was very good and looked mighty fine in the Catsuit. Hardy, well I kept getting flashbacks to the South Park parody, so hard to take seriously. Freeman and Cain were ok.
Story was serviceable, set pieces ok. Batman/Bains confrontations were shite though. I still think BB is the best run very close by DK, and this trailing somewhat behind.
So from me:

I watched it purely as a nicely crafted story, with some great action scenes, and didn't expect, or want more from it.
It didn't rock my world, but I did enjoy it.
