Registered 14 years agoOh come on, it's barely Autumnal.
Don't get me wrong, the UK is capable of being truely freezing when Winter comes around, but that sudden drop in temperature doesn't usually happen until late November. -

Registered 15 years agoHuzzah! It's not really cold enough but this is a good excuse for getting out the hat and gloves. Can't wait until it's cold enough for a scarf too. -

Registered 11 years agoI've been waiting to crack out the scarf and gloves properly. Probably be early November when I do I think, at the moment it's not all that bad, just a bit nippy here and there. -

Registered 15 years agoFrom Daily Mail;
Autumnal weather has finally kicked in. By midweek it will feel a lot cooler as a cold Arctic wind blasts down from near the North Pole.

Could spread all over Europe, the Gulf stream isn't what it used to be, apparently.

Oh, seems that's Russia, not Europe.
I read an article saying Europe is going to have its coldest winter for 1000 years this year.
And we might have snow in the UK next week, already. -

Registered 19 years agoWell I've been for a cycle with the kids, and been tidying the garden (last grass cut etc), dressed in a t-shirt. And trousers etc. Must be the Gulf Stream lapping up the Clyde. Will be cold tonight though, clear skies. -

Registered 16 years agoOoh, snow? Brilliant. Snow is one of the only good things about proper (ie- dark, miserable, cold) winter. It makes everywhere look lovely no matter how shitty the place. Until it melts and that slushy crap makes everywhere look like the gulf of Mexico. -

Registered 13 years agoDon't worry everyone, it's bound to be warmer tomorrow because I covered my windshield this evening, which is always rewarded by a distinct lack of frost in the morning! -

Registered 15 years agoDepends on your age, my dad is always cold.
I like when people talk about how cold it is outside and I'm sitting very comfortably with the heat pipingIt's the little things

When at home in Cumbria, I live alone, and work from home too, but putting the heating on for just me all day seems a waste of both the planet and my money, so
3 pairs socks
Grunts
Thermal top and bottoms
T shirt
Super thick pj bottoms
Woolly hat
Hoodie
Dressing gown
Is my preferred solution. With a second dressing gown if it is really nippy
