    Hey mods and Co.

I wanted to run this past you guys, I'm a little unsure where the rules lay for this. I know you guys are pretty quick to lock affiliate advertising and whatnot.

I'm part of a gaming society called Sturmgrenadier (or SG for short). SG is basically a huge guild or clan who operate in many of the most popular MMO's and shooters.

As with anything, games come and go but what about the people? Typically, the game is the common bond among gaming clans and when the game no longer appeals to the gamer, the gamer no longer appeals to the clan. With that said, SG decided to syndicate its operations via "Portals" to provide a means for our members and fellow gamers to stay connected, enjoying a variety of online games.

So trying to keep this as short as possible. We've recently upped our recruitment effort in all games and i'm concentrating on getting our name out to more of a UK/European audience. Whats the possibility getting a post down on your forum somewhere?

Thanks for taking the time to read,

Lordy, you're quite possibly the most polite person ever to post here, congratulations.

If he is, then it's a good tactic!

This sounds quite a good idea actually. I wonder sometimes where Nomad Jedi went from the X-Wing vs Tie-Fighter days........

Subtle slick way of advertising your clan. Open viral marketing ftl. If you didn't mean to do that, you wouldn't have embedded the needed info for people to search for themselves.

    Hey chaps,

Don't get me wrong. I put my post in the Mod forum due to the fact that I didn't want to post it publicly (or more publicly). I omitted to post a link for that very reason that this post wasn't meant to be an advert. I just had to put across my reasons as to why SG had a shot at taking up bandwidth on your forums.

As lots of you would rightly assume, I'm not part of your community and I wasn't aware that the mod forum would be this frequented! :D After reading your forums though, it seems that you guys already have a close knit group of regulars.

Groovemeister, you're perfectly correct. You guys SHOULD make a group. In fact, while reading up on the boards it did strike me that any posts regarding Sturmgrenadier would be falling on deaf ears because anyone who's anyone would already rather join up with their mates than some bloody American guild with a German sounding name!;)

Either way, I'll keep checking your forums and see if theres any answer from the mods in regards to my question.

    Ta lads

You could have emailed them if you intended this to be private. ;)

But I think you are okay. A plant-like behaviour would have you log in and pretend you aren't actually running the website, and then pimp it in every half-relevant thread.

Jeez, you'd think there'd be some enthusiastic Planeteers around these parts. That's like a geek dream :)
