Genuinely depends on how much you use the streaming and delivery service.
Me: former: almost never, latter: every month. I paid. Be interesting to see what magic beans are up on the Prime Day. -

Registered 15 years agoBook lending as well, unlimited photo uploads, plus two concurrent video streams all appeal. Not sure on the content though.
Plus nappies. Never forget the nappy discount. -

Registered 16 years agoOrdered a record during Sunday afternoon and paid £1.29 for captain slow delivery.
It arrived Monday morning.
Definitely makes me feel like Prime is more of a placebo than anything else. -
I got 6 months free Prime for being a (shitty part-time) student, then you can sign up for £39 a year going forward. For the amount of tat I order that's a decent price, though I've not really investigated the Instant Video stuff. I get most stuff delivered to work so I don't have to deal with various lolcouriers. -

Seems the nappy discount is only on Amazon Family, which isn't reduced and still at £80.

I thought you didn't get Amazon Video if you're a student account?

It's great. I love getting things delivered next day, it makes impulse buys go up, but I do find it incredibly useful.

The selection on Amazon video is pretty poor and they seem to remove stuff from the service at random. You might think, ooh I'll watch that at the weekend. Then the weekend comes and it's now got a price tag. -
It's great for dc animated stuff though
currently rewatching young justice on it -

Registered 20 years agoDepends how much shite you order from them. It does sort of lock you into them.
I once ordered a game at 7.30 on a Friday night, turned up 8.30 Saturday morning. -

Registered 13 years agoWhich they tell you they will before you sign up. You can get the money back if you haven't used them once the payment took place.
I've signed up as £59 is a good price. I can change region using the android app, but unfortunately prime doesn't transfer to other countries. The US amazon store is offering a free trial. I'm going to try it to see if the videos will work as they have a better selection. -
Bloody hell, why is Prime so expensive for you lot? It's €50 here in Germany. -

Registered 6 years agoDoes that include it's streaming service that hardly anyone uses anyway as most of the content on it is old and pony?
As for the nappies, get yourselves to Aldi people! Cheap and good! -
@HarryB For the 6 month free trial you don't, you get the Prime delivery stuff. Once you start paying for Prime at 50% off then you get Instant Video and a free Kindle book borrow a month. -
@OtterofJustice Yes, it does. It was the reason I canceled Prime because they basically said "good news, you can now stream lots of films and TV shows and we've only doubled the price of Prime which you originally only bought to save postage". -

Registered 16 years agoAmazon Prime is fucking ace in my area. Don't care for the free video streaming - i never use it - but we are constantly having a stream of amazon parcels delivered to my house or office, baby stuff, presents, computer bits and pieces etc.
And the fact that 4 other "family members" are benefiting from the £79 fee too.
Also helps that in general there are no other places to buy most things that are cheaper than amazon. -

Registered 18 years ago@monkehhh ah that makes sense, gf is using her trial right now but we might go for it at the cheap rate then, as it could be handy sometimes but I read the content isn't fantastic as some still wants you to pay for it! -

Registered 9 years agoAs if to prove us wrong when we said Prime video was poor, The Imitation Game and '71 have been added to instant video, both are very good and semi-recent. -

Registered 20 years agoCan anyone tell me if the deals I'm seeing for Prime members (without being one) are the only ones going? Do I need to sign up (I've realised I do have a free trial) in order to just see them all? -
I don't know what you're seeing but if it's shit like £2 off the boxset of Minder series two then yes, that's the quality of items in the Prime sale.
I think you can see them all but you're not allowed to buy them.
