| I'm seeing total shite. Looks no different from the regular lightening deals but has "Prime" written next to it. I was expecting more, given they weere going on about it being bigger than Black Friday. Need a new phone. |

Had a feeling it would be shite when they described it as more deals than black friday, not better deals. -
The Taken Trilogy - Amazon Prime day 33% off!!! That's down to just £9.99 for this bargain!!
Buy, cuntfish, buy!

Registered 14 years agoI thought some of the Black Friday deals a couple of years ago were quite good in terms of discount and variety. The one last year was underwhelming, so when I saw Prime Day being described as having more deals than Black Friday I was wary. It's almost a sideways compliment like describing someone as being more attractive than Su Pollard. -

Registered 14 years agoI don't think they have any in the sale. There was an MSI laptop but it's 100% claimed now. -

Yeah, it's not the greatest sale. 15% off Amazon Warehouse stuff might be useful, but they've probably bumped up the prices to accomodate for it. -

I don't like how they do the "50% off".
The Glo Clock was up at "50%" today. It was £14.99. Yesterday it was £19.99. That's not 50%. It is 50% off of RRP, but a quick check of camelcamelcamel on Amazon's prices showed that they haven't sold it at that price since....2011.
I thought sale prices had to show exactly how much they had had knocked off of them, compared to a price over a certain time period. Not some price that they haven't sold it at for years.
But then whether there's a rule or not, I shouldn't expect them to abide by it. They're still not paying taxes. -

I got my Xbone + Alien Isolation in Black Friday for about 260, which is still a very good price. Hence I expected some decent stuff. This is pants.

Amazon advertised this hard on tv. All those extra prime subs man. Money for nothing! Glad to see the sale was a load of shite as I no longer feel left out for not being part of it

Registered 9 years agoThe best thing about this "Prime Day" was the bumping up of the No-Rush delivery credit to £3. The deals weren't any better than the regular lightning deals that they do. -

Yeah it was there for £189 IIRC, I know this because I had it bookmarked. Even at forty quid off or whatever, I didn't go for it, having picked up one of the Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SSDs for about the same price as a Crucial BX, so I'm happy but sort of disgusted with myself for spending that kind of money on a drive. Also got a Judge Dredd tee and a Dremel.

It was kinda crap. First Black Friday sale Amazon did was the best, no question. I picked up both the £50 quid Xbox 360 and £50 Wii at the time. Sold the Wii to a guy at work to pay for the Xbox. Stuck a drive in it and I've been using it, off and on, ever since. -

Registered 6 years agoOne of the prime offers I saw was buy a gift box for £50 and get £10 extra credit.
Don't care what anyone says £10 of free Amazon credit is never a bad thing. I assume I will get that once they dispatch the gift box.
I wonder if this was a prime day only thing or is normal practise. -

Registered 9 years agoThe Dremel was the 4000-4/65 model with 65 accessories. Sells for about a ton normally, a bit more on Amazon, and it cost 66 quid. They're all over ebay at the minute, but I'm hanging on to mine so the box can gather dust while it marinades in the dreams of imagined projects.
The SSD was a Samsung SAM 850 Pro 1TB which sells for around £360 (seems to be at a premium on most sites but that won't last) and it was £270 in the sale. They're all over the Amazon Marketplace at around £310-£315 or on ebay, with US sellers, from £280 so it must have been in the US sale as well.

Prime Day only by the looks of it, though it's hard to say as my Amazon page is covered in nothing but plaster meercats as I was looking for a present for my mum earlier.

I bought one of their bargain £99 quid Fire Phones - never buying an Amazon branded product again. Given that I'm back in the Amazon Prime walled garden, with their £59 quid offer, that opinion may change. Hmm. Must dust off that phone and see if it's any les-.. agh, no NO NO.

Nope, still as bad a UI as ever.
One of the money shows (I'm currently either between jobs or retired depending on my solicitor, so I'm watching a lot of daytime TV) had a piece about Amazon arbitrage last week, or the week before (the days just blend together...) and yeah, people are buying stuff out of Tesco and other supermarkets, or specialised wholesalers and putting it straight up on Amazon marketplace with a fat profit. They showed a guy going round with a trolley, consulting a spreadsheet on his phone. More power to him.

The offers that appear through daily deals are quite good. I bought a Firestick for £20 a few weeks ago and got a Prime subscription for £59 (which was right on the edge of being good value for me). -
That Toshiba Click Mini that I got off there yesterday is a right temperamental little cunt.
Takes an age to get going, won't install updates, takes an age to reset, wouldn't switch back on.
Apart from that, it's brilliant(!) -
