I spotted the idea on Reddit a couple of weeks ago, bought some but only had a couple of shortish rides, Iím not sure if theyíre anti-fog or ANTI-fog to be honest.

Wow, what a tragic waste...I guess it would cost too much to ship them to countries that could actually use them.

Thereís enough weight there that the bottom ones are probably ruined now anyway.
They should get organised and ride them to North Korea ;)

This video really speaks to me, particularly to my riding style. Inspirational, and well worth watching to the very end.

Very good. Was about to turn that off, due to the stupid MTB prick ;)

So today I learned that there's mud, then there's not seeing your rims for 1 1/2 miles. I also spent a large chunk of this afternoon hitting 'puddles' that had my feet underwater from the down-stroke to mid-stroke. I am a brave little soldier.

Just got back from a mixed ride of climbs, the last half of which had a weird click from my drivetrain. Discovered I could only pedal forward and not back when cleaning afterwards and realised one side of the KMC joining link had sheared off completely.
Iím simultaneously fucked off the thing snapped in two under normal use and kind of impressed I did about 20k with only one side holding everything together during quite a lot of out of the saddle climbs.

The KMC joining link; is that a chain link or something else? I can't imaging riding with your chain only attached on the one side, but I guess it's theoretically possible.

Itís literally possible, I did it, though I canít truly say for how long- the link could have been warping or half split and so causing the clunk for many kilometres.

First proper ride(s) since October on the weekend. My fitness is now terrible... but I came back wanting to go out again soon, so that's encouraging.

So, anyone have any suggestions on how to HTFU? Seems the big difference between this year and last year is that I'm just not willing to suffer any more during training. I seem to be hitting a certain point and saying "fuck it" then backing off.

I'm actually wondering if I need to back the intensity way off, but dial up the total time. Not sure where I'd find said time, but I don't know if I have many other options.

I'd kill for someone faster than me to cycle with, but there's no-one I know locally that fits the bill.

Variety does it for me, multiple types of cycling and running on top-always something to improve on when you spread yourself stupidly thin.

Problem is, I can't really see myself getting out much in the real world until at least the end of February. I've become a pussy when it comes to weather too. :D

I think that's down to old age and life getting too comfortable- I used to go running in rain/hail/snow etc, nowadays? Fuck that.

I am a total fairweather cyclist now, and am pretty much as bad when running. If it rains or snows when I'm already out, then fair enough, but if it's lashing down before I go, then it's not so likely I'll head out. :-)

    You're probably right. lol

In my defence, I have done two winter overnight bikepacking rides, though luckily the weather ended up being fairly reasonable (cold as fuck, but at least it wasn't raining too much).

Nice to see you got your appetite back for Cycling PT. Not as hardcore and dertimined as you, but i feel the same as well. Still a fair weather cyclist :D (like vortex, don't mind some rain when out, but if it is before then no chance :D ) but, have been out, and on the TT too. I could have gone out on my winter bike but it's hooked up to the TT, so just sat on that for a bit (and pedalled obviously).

I swear that my garage (where the TT lives) is colder than the outdoors are!

Iíve had some interesting turbo sessions this winter- absolutely freezing garage, toes like ice throughout while steam pours off my overheated torso and arms. Iím hot as long as I stay in position and pedal but as soon as move to sit up the garage air is freezing moving past me. Really weird to be both things at once.

Nearly froze to death cycling back from the post-ride pub stop tonight. Teeth chattering, full body shivers, the works.

I was soaked to be fair, but I really really need to get some proper winter leggings- any recommendations?

Wiggle has a sale on some good ones.

On the strange turbo sessions... despite being frozen, I sweated so much on my forehead on one the other day that I came in and my face had a crystalline salt coating. lol

Never seems to happen any other time of year, so I assume it's temperature related.

When I move I'm going to give serious thought to insulating the garage.

So, I just braved the 4DP Sufferfest test for the first time since the beta... holy fuck, it's just as nasty as I remember it. Really doesn't help that I've lost a ton of fitness since my peak last year.

That aside, it should come as absolutely no surprise that I was classed as a "climber".

I'm fucking astonished I managed to come back to do anything after the 5 minute segment. I'm pretty convinced I was starting to black out. lol
