Yeah, that's concussion. I had it twice when I played rugby and the memory never fully comes back. Sometimes it can be delayed, so you can carry on for a bit and then get to a point where you have no idea where you are. It's why it's so important to just stop and compose yourself after a big fall, don't rush back on the bike and carry on.

Do you have any head aches or any other issues?

Let's not be too hasty to assume concussion.

Did your anus feel like it had been probed

I came off my bike when I was a kid and still can't remember exactly what happened before the crash. I ended up staggering down the bike path with blood running down my face (it was the early 90s, so no helmet) and the first thing I remember was shouting "I'm fine" to the kids in the playground, only my words were coming out backwards and sideways so fuck knows what sound I actually made at them.

No one checked my anus though - that's a good point.

    Yeah, no anal probing, sadly.
I feel OK, no swelling, nausea, vision problems, headaches at all. And Iím kinda looking out for them.
I agree it was a concussion. I stood on a road Iíve ridden up tens and tens of times and, for a moment, just could not work out where the hell I was or which way I needed to go. Walked home and have chilled since then, no alcohol, minimal screens etc. Really odd experience.

Did you at least score a KOM while you were in your fugue state?

Had a minor concussion with a MTB fall once, proper goldfish memory for a day, that scared me enough, losing 15 mins would freak me out. Assuming you been to see docs? And stay off the bike for a couple weeks minimum.

Yeah, you should get checked out. I've had way too many, long ago when it just meant you sat down for a few minutes and went back out. I reckon I would be a billionaire if not

@Psychotext Looks like we have a mutual acquaintance on Strava with Steve, who did the Dales Divide over the weekend.

Ha! Steve is awesome, I've done a number of bikepacking rides with him.

He's way, way out of my league these days unfortunately, so unlikely to be riding much with him going forward.

This fits with my experience... you really don't want to be getting COVID19 if you're a cyclist: https://www.centredaily.com/sports/college/penn-state-university/psu-football/article245448050.html

eBay, after advertising around within your club etc

Ebay is probably the biggest exposure but take a hefty cut. I'll try pinkbike and gumtree first.. just don't want a load of time wasters so I'll probably end up with Ebay in the end anyway.

Eating your bike seems a bit extreme.

Or just leave it outside overnight and claim on your insurance

    Cheers for the bikesoup recommend!

Haha could leave it outside. Pretty sure the scrap man would have it first as he's always round here lurking.

Had one offer which was ridiculous. Then an offer for a swap for a full suspension Trek...

Anyone used these DNA+ kits? got some insurance and provided a kit for free. Seems a bit overkill.. and I doubt a sticker will deter a potential thief as the leaflet seems to suggest.

Don't they only work if the police recover it or it comes into the possession of someone honest? seems a bit floored to me.

That said I do know someone who had his expensive e-bike stolen (it was well locked up in a locked entrance lobby to his workplace) and the police did recover it a few weeks later so I guess it does happen.

Don't some locks come with an insurance backing thingy?

Is that any good then? I kinda viewed it as more likely to have timewasters and chisellers than gumtree.

Maybe i should give it a go some time.

I've bought plenty off Marketplace, plenty of knobs but also plenty of good sellers, never bought a bike mind. Any bad or stupid communicators you can simply block instantly. Bought some absolute cracking bargains over the years now I think of it but you have to be super quick and it's just luck if the draw if you see a bargain that's just been listed.

I've sold a few things too and that can be a bit fraught especially if you're not greedy or giving it away and people start fighting that they were first in the queue when you sold it to someone who seemed more reliable or whatever, those dickheads are blocked too.

And then the twats who ask you something clearly written in the description, I could write a book! No fees though of course.

The review system seems a bit floored too but generally a fair reflection of a seller or buyer.
